To think Big Brother could have put a couple of 'average' looking people in?

I thought that Big Brother was a social experiment where they place a number of people in the house to see what happens between the dynamics of the groups over the coming months.

Auditions meant that you had a chance to apply.

It now seems however that if you're not size 6-12, stunning looking, wealthy and a model you have no chance anymore.

AIBU to think that they could have given us 'average' people a chance?

They recruit most of the HMs, not many of them actually audition.

They want people who will willingly sell their stories/get their tits out in the daily star and OK magazine. They don't want normals.

It definitely struck me as well!

There is the one token 'oldie' but other than that they all seem to be metrosexual men and model type women.

I think the days of big brother being a social experiment are over though, it's just a show for desperados to try to become famous though.

still love it though

To try to become famous now*

'I thought that Big Brother was a social experiment'

It is, but its target is the audience not the participants.

It must be to do with viewing figures. A desperate attempt to keep viewers?

But in reality it is characters that keep people watching, not shiny teeth.
