To start a new term at the Chalet School?

Happy for this to be moved to Chat if posters agree but thought I'd start it here as this is where we've all been loitering without permission when we should be doing our housework homework.

So welcome to a new term everyone. Cases upstairs to the dormitories, form lists on the notice board. And you'll all be pleased to hear that even though we've moved to a different location, Joey has tracked us - -down moved in next door, so we'll still be seeing too much-- plenty of her Smile

Sorry Tinuviel, not ringing any bells. Any more clues?

Vintagejazz · 10/06/2014 16:14

Oh, is it Erica?

Thebody I don't think Josette had her accident until a few years after The Chalet School goes to it.

About to start Exploits.....

fairnotfair · 10/06/2014 16:18

All those clues point towards Summer Term and E...a!

Toospotty · 10/06/2014 16:22

Isn't it because Jo lived nearer the school so they could be day girls?

Tinuviel · 10/06/2014 16:26

Yes, that's it! I don't even know why I liked it so much.

fairnotfair · 10/06/2014 16:34

It's lovely! I've always liked it, but I have DSs.

Vintagejazz · 10/06/2014 16:44

I remember about twelve years ago my nephew was in a crèche with a little girl called Erica and I just thought it was a lovely name and have really liked it since.

I remember when I first read Exile, I was in primary school and couldn't put it down, the escape over the mountains was all very exciting but then once they got to Switzerland it was like I was reading a different book. It was so boring and seemed to be missing a huge chunk (I think I even checked the page numbers).

thebodylovesspring · 10/06/2014 16:54

vintage you are right my lamb. If this was stand up class we would swap.

Ooh love that name it's very pretty.

hels71 · 10/06/2014 17:49

There is a whole chapter in the hardback of Exile that did not make it to the paperback if I remember rightly.....
the end of it always makes me cry...I am very sad!!

SelectAUserName · 10/06/2014 18:22

There's a really good story in the Sally Denny Library which fills in some of the gaps in Exile. It starts a bit oddly - CS / Sound of Music crossover, anyone? - but is a good read; probably my favourite story on SDL.

Toospotty · 10/06/2014 18:27

Link, Select?

I have mostly been using the Sally Denny Library for SEX stories

Tinuviel · 10/06/2014 18:33

Sounds you need a lie down with some of Matey's special milk, Spotty and a talking to from Mary-Lou/Joey. So have I Blush

Toospotty · 10/06/2014 18:39

Jack and Jem are new again in my eyes, Tinuviel.

I also named my child after a Chalet character. But it's not exactly an unusual name. It's the same name I gave a hamster as a child.

Tinuviel · 10/06/2014 18:40

Well, they are definitely more 'interesting'!

SelectAUserName · 10/06/2014 18:53

Exile story link

It's long, but worth persevering with.

ToniWol · 10/06/2014 18:58

Oh my - I never imagined I'd find a CS thread on MN

Can May I join as a mooner? I always sympathised with Verity and Con.

Not in FOCS but on the CBB (mostly lurking these days) and currently 'busy'!

I've been reading the books since I was 10 and have a nearly complete collection of transcripts.

SelectAUserName · 10/06/2014 19:06

Ooh Toni, do you have the transcripts of Exile and Goes To It?

thebodylovesspring · 10/06/2014 19:07

Welcome ToniWol my lamb.

Another mooner aye? We will get Clem to sheepdog you she's one of our steadiest.

SelectAUserName · 10/06/2014 19:08

And of course, welcome. Unpack your case quickly, Matey is waiting to go through your trunk.

(There were two previous CS threads before this; if you ever have six hours to spare you might want to search for them.)

ToniWol · 10/06/2014 19:11

I do. If you message me your email addy I'll send tomorrow night. Can't do tonight as going on a ramble walk round the village with Guides and then straight to bed!

thebodylovesspring · 10/06/2014 19:11

The Jack and Jem story was racy.

I also read one with lots of lesbians,Len, Con, Ted (obviously) Jane and Jack, good read.

Thanks for the link Select evening sorted.

Toospotty · 10/06/2014 19:17

Great link, thanks. I can recommend the Joey as actress/spy one, although it's still in progress. No sex though.
