woosey35 · 05/06/2014 20:52

I don't know whether to go along with him and throw my keys in the middle.....
The other swingers are 20yrs older than us and it feels wierd.
What you reckon?? It might be fun tho hey?!

(Whoops OP posted as I constructed mine!)

gordyslovesheep · 05/06/2014 21:49

well that'll make the next works Christmas do not at all awkward then Hmm

JuanPotatoTwo · 05/06/2014 21:51

MrsChickPea - yes I think I got it wrong about the tonic. Was thinking that generally low fat substitutes are full of sugar or other nasties. Gin definitely ok though :)

Scrumpy100 · 05/06/2014 21:56

Well in that case OP why don't you ask him for a threesome with a man 20 years younger than him to liven things up a bit?!

ComposHat · 05/06/2014 21:57

Fuck a duck sixty and he's into swinging? I thought at that age he'd get up five times a night is to go and have a piss.

And the car key swapping?

I've got the keys for a beige Nissan Micra who's got a beige Nissan Micra?

I have pampas grass in the garden, we don't answer the door after 7pm, just incase!

MrsChickPea · 05/06/2014 22:01

woosey35... are you seriously considering this? As I'd really suggest going with Scrumpy100's latest suggestion. Though really I think you should just be happy with your DP and him happy with you. Though I'm probably just too old to get it.

MrsChickPea · 05/06/2014 22:02

Personally, actually, I do quite like pampas grass. My parents had a really big one. What the devil is wrong with it?

Scrumpy100 · 05/06/2014 22:03

What's the link with pampas grass? I have been so busy thinking about the costume I haven't considered the accountrements.

SunshineOutdoors · 05/06/2014 22:09

You thought AIBU was a place where you wouldn't get judged???

MrsChickPea · 05/06/2014 22:09

I think pampas grass (which is a big thin leaved with tall fluffy stalked flowers - like long tall grass - though quite pretty) was considered very trendy in the 1970's. It is not really part of the outfit - though fits the time when 'swinging' was perhaps trendy. NO idea. I was very young in the 1970's.

MrsLettuce · 05/06/2014 22:17

Look people, I like a good judge as well as the next viper, but for goodness sake there's nowt wrong or dirty or ewww about safe sex between consenting adults.

If you don't fancy it, don't do it. I surely wont be but, IMHO 'tis awfully closed minded to say it's wrong.

So, yeah OP. If you think you might fancy it but aren't sure then, well, don't. Have you met these people? Several dinners out to get to know one another as a group (no strings) before you make your mind(s) up would seem reasonably civilized to me.

Scrumpy100 · 05/06/2014 22:17

Ah I thought it might be for spanking games..... Or cunning mask disguises .... I am clearly going to have to rethink my swinging preconceptions....

MrsLettuce · 05/06/2014 22:20

I always imagine 'at home' swingers to be rather dull TBH. Masks and spanking games sounds a bit too adventurous.

MrsLettuce · 05/06/2014 22:41

Naff, suburban and dated. Precisely Compo.

Well, for 'our' generation anyway, for people in their 60's it's probably been a hobby since it was the hip, suburban fashion of the moment. But still.

IonaMumsnet · 05/06/2014 23:02

Hi there! Passes through nonchalantly, swinging a pampas grass stalk Just a reminder of our Talk Guidelines here in case anyone wanted to gen up.

EBearhug · 06/06/2014 00:23

Swinging with people from work?

Nonononononono. There's no way that's never going to go wrong is there?

(Are MNHQ trying to tell us they're into it, swinging their bits of pampas about? Gosh.)

BTW, it's a bugger to get rid of pampas, if you decide you don't like it. Or planted it too close to the house, not realising how big it would get.

Fideliney · 06/06/2014 02:32

so is pampas grass like a red lamp, but for swingers? Or is just a random, scene setting 70s cultural reference?

Fideliney · 06/06/2014 02:35

I'm glad he has though as we have exhausted the usual sex stuff and were ready for something different

Exhausted it!? How? You are allowed to repeat positions, you know Shock

tanukiton · 06/06/2014 02:38

pampas grass is evil stuff. It has razor blade like leaves and is a bugger to get out of your garden once established only mad people, novice gardeners and swingers would put in it in their garden....

EBearhug · 06/06/2014 09:30

I had it outside one house I rented, (which the letting agent told me I was allowed to kill off if I could.) Didn't have any swingers knocking on my door though.

EBearhug · 06/06/2014 09:30

it = pampas
