I might claw my own fAnjo off, it's so flaming itchy!

Just back from Spain, hideous thrush, not had it in eons, got some cannestan but it's not even touched the sides. No pun intended.

Please help me, I'm still young!

Hot, sore, itchy as a mo fo.

I've had a cool wash in water with a bit of tea tree, slathered on the useless cream, got some cotton knickers on.

Gah!

OP, get yourself to the doctors and get a diagnosis. If your condition is not responding to thrush treatment, it may well not be thrush.

EAT the bloody yoghurt ffs! Thrush doesn't appear out of the blue, it indicates your system is completely out of whack.

As for a GP prescribing antibiotics for chronic thrush, I despair: antibiotics kill off essential gut flora (I look forward to the day when GPs prescribe probiotics with antibiotics) which often results in your whole body being overwhelmed with fungal whatnot. Yoghurt puts back the gut flora you need for a healthy system. Slap it on your floojy too for now to address the current crisis but fhs address the underlying cause and eat (plain) yoghurt every day, take a course of (expensive) acidophilus (sp), cut out sugar, yeast, alcohol, simple carbs until this crisis is over and you've got your system back on a healthy footing.

Second getting to the GP to check it isn't something else but eat plain yoghurt every day, regardless

springy I hear ya!

On holiday I drank beer, ate lovely bread and pastries and had lots of ice lollies. Basically the thrush diet.

Back at home, back to healthy eating (low carb/no carb).

Got the tablet, have ingested. Going to buy and eat more yogurt, having a curry tonight (chicken, spinach and chickpeas) will make a raita to slather on top. Of the curry. Ahem.

All the above remedies are good, but only if you go on to boil- wash all your towels.

There are often outbreaks of this where towels are not washed in a hot enough temperature.Think hotels, nurses homes, etc.

Can you buy probiotic pessaries in the UK?
It's not something I've seen nor asked about.
I bought some here last week they've got 3 different kinds/strains of Lactobacillus. I sniggered at the name it's erm....original I suppose.

You'll need to iron the gussets of your pants, I've heard, on a high heat to nuke the spores - apparently a normal wash doesn't get rid. Sympathies, I've only had thrush about five times in my life but it KILLS.

Deathraystare · 04/06/2014 21:50

Threw some tree tea oil on the fanjo just before getting in the car to visit mum in hospital. It calmed it down a fair bit. May swoosh some in a bath tonight to see how that does.

So glad I am not alone in this -was having dark thoughts. Must pick up a pessary tomorrow. Did not get on with the gel pessary - it stuck to my pubes!!!! Prefer the other one.
