Or should just i just leave things now its actually fixed and just not renew my contract when it runs out in oct.
Short version (which is still quite long)
Reported dripping water Tues May 6th
Engineer A came Mon May 12th
Had to order part same engineer A came back and 'fixed' Thurs 15 may
Noticed still dripping later that night, phoned back and arranged further visit.
Engineer B came Sat 17 May and 'fixed'.
noticed still dripping later that night. Phoned and arranged further engineer to visit Thurs 22 May.
we were on holiday that week so mum had to wait in, engineer B attended, needed to order parts, his handheld computer wasn't working so said would order manually and someone would ring mum in 1-2 hours. Engineer advised boiler should no longer be used as water dripping on electrics so no heat and hot water.
No one rang mum rang back so mum rang them on Friday, they were funny with her as she wasn't contract holder. I phoned when i got home on Fri afternoon and was reassued that the parts had been order and someone would be in touch to arrange visit.
Was phoned Friday night and engineer wanted to visit Wed but i couldn't have another day off work so had to arrange for Thursday. Asked if it could be done any earlier as we had no heat or hot water but was told parts not arriving till wednesday.
Next is the part that really pissed me off:
Had afternoon appointment for Thursday which is between 1 and 8pm. Waited in afternoon with DS, phoned at 5 as no one had come and i knew it was a two hour job and not feeling confident at this stage, reassued someone def coming. Engineer C arrives at 7.30 and asked what the problem is, i say haven't you got parts, no!!!! Engineer C phones call centre and told parts haven't been ordered!!!! TBF engineer C spends lots of time phoning to sort out when its not his fault. They want to come back with parts on Monday (would be 2 June) but DH puts his foot down and says they must come back tomorrow. Engineer C phones parts stores and finds that all parts will be available tomorrow (funny how before they took best part of a week??) so they arrange visit for today. touch wood it has actually been fixed today.
I phoned up last night to complain and got told the parts were ordered so not sure why they didn't get to engineer yesterday. Anyway they have given me the address and email for official complaints and I was all guns blazing last night to complain but thought i'd hang on and see if it got fixed today, now it 'touch wood' has i'm not sure if i can be bothered to complain, my mum said i should or otherwise companies are not aware of things going wrong for the future. Should i bother putting a complaint in or just chalk it up to experience, not renew my contact and move on with my life?????
One thing i am thankful for is that its not the middle of winter so although a couple of evenings the thermostat was showing 16 and it felt on the chilly side it wasn't freezing cold. No hot water was more annoying. But on the flip side i would expect May to be a less busy month so to get things fixed quicker, god knows what they're like in the busy winter period
