To think the School overreacted in Expelling Pupil and calling Police for a stunt, when a "bollocking would have been enough".

Jacob Dowdle, a year 13 Pupil at Altrincham Grammar school on the last day of term May 16, put a paper plate with whipped cream in to his year heads face.

This was a very "Stupid" thing to do, but no harm was meant or injury caused yet the school called the Police and summary expelled him. The teacher was seeking a prosecution for the stunt, when she was not injured The teacher although upset , should have had the grace to except that it was a poor stunt , ( or like most teachers on the last day taken it on the chin as overexcited students behaviour).

I am not going to watch the video as I am sure the teacher wouldn't want anyone else seeing it.

Morgause · 29/05/2014 08:21

Good idea, does anyone have an email address for the school?

sashh · 29/05/2014 08:26

[email protected] - from the website

JohnnyBarthes · 29/05/2014 08:33

Would it it be better to coordinate something, rather than overwhelming the admin staff?

Morgause · 29/05/2014 08:38

Any suggestions, johnny?

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/05/2014 08:46

Count me in too. Nasty man!

princessconsuelobananahammock · 29/05/2014 09:10

And me...!

MaxsMummy2012 · 29/05/2014 09:10

Count me in. Could we create a new thread - purely support for the teacher and email the link to the head - that way people can keep adding their support but the head only gets 1 email?

princessconsuelobananahammock · 29/05/2014 09:10

And me...!

DrankSangriaInThePark · 29/05/2014 09:12

I'm in.

While not condoning it's important people realise it was paper. Some people need their eyes testing - 1. The pie was bending to start with in his hand (i.e. paper), 2. In the video there is nothing on the floor to the right of her leg before she is hit in the face with it but the paper plate is visible by her leg after the video pans back to her - there is no noise at that point (i.e. paper), 3. There is a 4 second delay before the melamine bowl/cup hits the floor, making the noise (well after the paper plate had hit her), 4. Apart from Mumsnet no where does it say it was china or melamine - everywhere says it was a paper plate, 5. I'm sure the head of the school would have said if it had been anything but paper, 6. The consequences of the plate not being paper would have been much worse - she would have been badly damaged and he'd be in custody no doubt.

This whole incident is bad enough without people trying to make out it was even worse. He did a terrible, stupid thing but accusing him of hitting her with china/melamine is stirring and you must be stupid if you can't see or work out that it was paper.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 29/05/2014 09:20

I've just read the comments at the end of a couple of various articles and they all seem to support the teacher. A petition to support her would be a really good idea. The fact that he has profited from this just disgusts me.

Aspiringhuman · 29/05/2014 09:32

Wonderful idea.

FrontForward · 29/05/2014 09:33

I too would add my voice to a petition of support to counter the odious boy's childish publicity stunt

I would be so ashamed if he was my child

FrontForward · 29/05/2014 09:33

I can't help imagining what his father is like....an arrogant misogynist maybe?

JohnnyBarthes · 29/05/2014 09:51

Morg - any suggestions.. Um, no Blush

Max's suggestion of starting a new thread here seems a good one. An Mn-er with a boy at the school already could send the link perhaps, so it doesn't get overlooked.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 29/05/2014 09:57

Making this a discussion of the day may help.

IS this idea a bit too 'out there' but what about a just giving page making a donation to show support?

Or something similar, I know there are other sites.

heraldgerald · 29/05/2014 10:40

smokepole I really admire your apology and new perspective on the matter. I think a new thread voicing all our support to the teacher and smts decision, perhaps in chat?

vindscreenviper · 29/05/2014 10:40

A just giving page in aid of this charity, with reference to this particular incident would offer practical support for any teacher who feels they need it.

teachersupport.info/

At Teacher Support Network we believe that no teacher should have to cope with emotional strain alone, which is why we're always here to listen. Our dedicated helpline, the only one of it's kind, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I have no idea how to set this up though, any offers from someone who has done this before? Promise I will donate and share Smile

sashh · 29/05/2014 10:44

vind

I think it might nee MNHQ to set a page up.

Has anyone seen them this AM?

WhereTheWildlingsAre · 29/05/2014 10:53

I've reported the last few posts to MNHQ as a way of drawing their attention to your questions.
