i really was a fan for years and watched their set up goings on but today the news (ok it was the daily mail) is awash with stories of the unappealing kanya (or however you spell his name) and kim.

aibu to wish they would just quietly eff off now and make room for the next set up tv family?

I agree with you! They need to just go and live quietly in one of their massive mansions, they're boring now.
(Although fair play to the bazillions of £££ that they have made from being famous for not really doing anything though :) )

Cocolepew · 24/05/2014 09:14

That wedding just proves that money can't buy taste.

Sallyingforth · 24/05/2014 09:25

They are trash. Just ignore.

HermioneWeasley · 24/05/2014 09:28

Never a fan (think they're all ghastly) but am loving the circus that is their wedding. Can't wait for more pics over the weekend

my2centsis · 24/05/2014 09:28

Who are you to call them trash? So rude.

CrispyFern · 24/05/2014 09:30

I honestly wouldn't recognise a Kardashian. I don't think I've ever seen one.
They're easy to avoid!

JapaneseMargaret · 24/05/2014 09:30

I find that I am perfectly able to go through life without them impinging on my radar.

I don't use the DM website, which probably goes a long way towards explaining that.

lilrascal · 24/05/2014 09:36

they are a celebrity couple that don't impinge on your life whatsoever (unless their wedding is taking place in your back garden). I will browse the photos online when its over but other than that I don't wish they would just go away ... strange!

Sallingforth didn't realise you knew them personally Hmm

magpiegin · 24/05/2014 09:38

I also agree that it is easy to get through life easily being able to ignore. I think one was pregnant and one married a bloke? Just turn the page or channel over if you don't like it.

wearyroad · 24/05/2014 09:39

I was sneakily reading the Daily Fail guff about the wedding just now. Its hilarious. The DM is obsessed! Every other story on the sleb sidebar of shame is about the family. Most strange.

The wedding looks amusing, though. People in French revolutionary costume greeting guests at the pre wedding bash at the Palace of Versailles. You couldnt make it up. Theyre out nouveau-riche-ing the Beckhams by x100.

wearyroad · 24/05/2014 09:41

I can hand on heart say, though, I have never watched more than 3 minutes of the programme. It just seemed to be the sisters going shopping and having mild disagreements about stuff...paint drying.

maras2 · 24/05/2014 10:02

Just seen the bride's 'dress'.I wear more clothes in the bloody bath. Not much taste for all their money.

SanityClause · 24/05/2014 10:09

There is a "Sleb Twaddle" topic you could post in.

WanderingAway · 24/05/2014 10:10

I watched one of their shows the other day and actually felt sorry for them.

It was one where kim was nearing her due date & her, her family & her friends were being hounded unsafely by the paparazzi. I thought it was dangerous and unneccessary.

Birdsgottafly · 24/05/2014 10:24

"They're easy to avoid!"
"I don't use the DM website, which probably goes a long way towards explaining that."

If you watch many channels across all Sky/Freeview etc they will pop up somewhere, annoyingly for me, mid film, on some "News" catch up.

I do my best to avoid crap media and slender twaddle, but still know about these people.

No need for the snobbery.

If I had their wealth I would be making my dreams come true and not giving a stuff what anyone thought about my choice of venues.

wearyroad · 24/05/2014 10:28

I think when you hire a Palace for your wedding and invite 3,000 guests, most of whom you do not know and are just 'must have' sleb guests, you clearly DO give a stuff about what people think. In fact, Kim k's whole career is based on caring what people think of her life. She has no other role.

Just saying.

CrispyFern · 24/05/2014 10:46

I'm not being a snob.

I suppose I just don't watch the advert breaks. Or channels with celebrity news in advert breaks?
Is that mtv?

I don't actively turn my eyes away going "Oh those Kardashians I can't bear all this lowbrow rubbish!" I've honestly just never seen any one of them. Never read a thing about them, wait - I do know one of them is married to Kanye West? Maybe? That's it!

They can't be that difficult to avoid!

WorraLiberty · 24/05/2014 10:53

I genuinely wouldn't know Kim Kardashian if I bumped into her in the frozen veg aisle in Sainsburys.

But that's probably because I have no interest in the DM, magazines or celebrity gossip in general.

If you do, then YABU to think they should just go away because it makes business sense for them to milk every last penny out of people who are into that sort of thing.

libertytrainers · 24/05/2014 10:56

er and sanity?

i was asking if i was being unreasonable!

they are pretty hard to avoid and i admitted i was a fan, just find the over kill funny/annoying/weird

I think the enmity towards the whole K clan emanates fom them being the epitome of "empty" celebrity. (sorry, a lot of "E"s there!) The family was launched into the limelight by father Robert Kardashian's notorious involvement with the O J Simpson case and then carried on by Kim making a sex tape that was leaked. Her and her sisters' fame rest on this dubious foundation, which has been exploited relentlessly for fame, fortune and "celebrity".

Rhine · 24/05/2014 11:12

YANBU. They are hideous trash. Loath them with a passion.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 24/05/2014 11:14

I've never understood the fascination. Block, ignore avoid! Grin

numptieseverywhere · 24/05/2014 11:16

not a fan of 'Kimye' but Kanye West is very talented. I suspect he'll lose massive credibility now. (but already had after the Taylor Swift incident)

Birdsgottafly · 24/05/2014 11:27

"I suppose I just don't watch the advert breaks. Or channels with celebrity news in advert breaks? Is that MTV"

Channel 4, 5, 5* and BBC 3 come instantly to mind.

Weary, I meant "not caring", in a old style "taste, etiquette" type of way. I would plan what I wanted.

I would enjoy dressing in period clothes and getting to visit/use amazing buildings. I like a good fancy dress party and I like stunning architecture/paintings, so if I had the money, I would consider combining the two.

Why should you have to be born Royalty to get to do it (or white and powerful).
