To be fed up with house exchange...

Pretty fed up now of people on the house exchange website who actually don't want to move! You look at all the 'success stories' Yeah just rub it in my face why don't you.

I have phoned people, emailed people, nudged people offering to help them exchange in any way they may need just so I can get there house and they either don't answer, come up with some silly excuse and so on and so forth, it's tiring!

Is there any hope? Or has anyone got any advice about anything else I can do?

homeswapper is free now?

Theincidental · 28/05/2014 22:43

Via some housing associations it is free. When you sign up to homeswapper and put in your HA, it tells you if there's a charge

gamerchick · 28/05/2014 22:55

well i wish I'd known that... I was paying Grin

NeedsAsockamnesty · 28/05/2014 23:17

Gamer

It depends what HA or LA you are. A few LA's its free in those areas the HA tenants tend not to be in others it's a few HA's

wish the HS team would explain in laymans terms too what the terms mean, some people just don't know-

the difference in a detatched, semi, end of terrace, mid terrace, flat or nmaisonette.

also when they say they have off road parking. my arse. its roadside and half a mile away!

that's time wasting to me too.

dietcokefan · 29/05/2014 17:29

We are over-crowded we have 3 children with number 4 on the way although we do have a large 2 bed house.

Hmm

I can't be the only person who agrees with midnite.

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 30/05/2014 19:33

The ones who state they want to move asap then they don't log onto their pages for ages!

CarCiKoTab · 30/05/2014 19:51

Well midnite & dietcoke it's funny because I thought I was well within my right to have as many children as I want? It's not like we're sponging off the government I don't claim any benefits, I pay my rent e.t.c I mean fair enough if I was on income support but, we're not. I'm also aware that we are entitled to a council house and therefore we are going to use that entitlement which means we are entitled to move if we want to, no different to people with a mortgage moving to a bigger house except less paperwork.

For the others who are less judgemental still no luck! I couldn't imagine doing a 13-way swap wow! A 3-way swap is hard enough to try and set up.

So home swapper is free now?

Homeswapper has always been free for me. When I chose my LA from the dropdown list it just said I didn't have to pay. I tried to register with the houseexchange.org.uk website but it's not free for my LA on that website so I left it. I don't understand why there are two different sites really, my ideal match could be on that other website!

CarCiKoTab · 30/05/2014 20:52

If I'm honest there's not much on there. I never really attempted to get on Homeswapper my sister's on that but she doesn't really get on with it.
