AIBU to ask that you please please take time to read "Save Meriam" in the "Take Action" section of the Christian solidarity Worldwide and if you want to help, e-mail the Sudanese embassy (info on the website)?

I read about this yesterday and was appalled Sad. Here is the link to the
Christian Solidarity Worldwide website and also a link to her story.

gordyslovesheep · 17/05/2014 16:07

Just awful :(

gelati3 · 17/05/2014 19:18

Thanks for providing the links itsrainingagain and to both you and gordylovesheep for taking time to answer. The lack of response to this post is very depressing. :-(

There has been a few threads about this, might be why people are not answering?

Greyhound · 17/05/2014 19:23

Sent also. Makes me shudder to think this level of hatred for others exists in the 21st century

EllaFitzgerald · 17/05/2014 19:28

Absolutely awful. It happens regularly in quite a few countries where apostasy is considered a crime.

gelati3 · 17/05/2014 19:35

Thank you Lulu1083 and EllaFitzgerald.

Batmam · 17/05/2014 21:05

Horrific. Will email. Is there anything else we can do?

Bithurt · 17/05/2014 21:11

I sent it too. Let's hope it works!

Pumpkinpositive · 17/05/2014 21:18

Hi Gelati3, I've already sent an email through Amnesty Int. The subject has been getting a fair bit of publicity via Facebook so hopefully Sudan will respond to international pressure.

AIBU gets a lot traffic and your very short thread title, which isn't terribly descriptive, could easily get lost among the many, many threads on the forum.

Without wanting to trivialise what is a matter of life and death, perhaps the lack of a punchy, attention grabbing thread title means the thread is being overlooked?

Thanks
StillNotFound · 17/05/2014 21:54

also on the amnesty international website here:

There's also a petition on change.org here:

please sign and share on facebook

I met my MP yesterday and took the opportunity to say that we should not be giving any relief or development funds to Sudan or any other country that treats people like this.

aderynlas · 18/05/2014 11:37

Also sent Gelati.
