to think that Alton Towers should have a Cbeebiesland only admission?

Given that its aimed at kids who cant go on the big rides and families with young children are not going to want to pay up to £48 pp to visit it.

Yes yes I know they are there to make money, but I cant help thinking that if they had entry just to that part seperately then they would actually make more!

Do they do it in the offseason? Drayton manor do with Thomasland.

I cant find any info to say that they do but it would be a good idea if they did!

It won't be on offer in school holidays or weekends if they did.

But there is nothing to stop the adults taking it in turns to go on the big rides while the other one has the dc's.

But that wouldnt matter if you had preschoolers though would it? Thats part of the joy of having kids not in school yet, you can get all the bargains!

It doesn't cost any more than you'd pay for entry to Alton towers anyway and under 4s are free, you can always get two for one deals if you keep an eye out

Bogeyface · 16/05/2014 20:11

Choco true but I have done that and it is dullsville for the parent waiting and not as much fun for the one on their own on the ride, especially if the queues are mad like they usually are.

I wouldnt ever go back with children who arent tall enough for the big rides. I am lucky that I live less than 20 miles away from AT, so can go fairly often, I wouldnt want to make a big trip there to spend half of the day on my own and the other half entertaining bored young ones while H went on the same ride I just queued for!

I know it doesnt cost more, I was saying that if they allowed entrance to just that bit for a reduced cost, I bet they would get more visitors and overall their profit would increase. By making it part of a park that is in the main aimed at older kids and adults, they are going to put off people like me and other parents of young ones who cant take advantage of the full range of rides.

A lot of the big rides have a single rider entry door - its usually close to the exit. Nemesis does and air as well. Not sure about the others.

They would have to close it all off to ensure you didn't just wander into the main theme park as it is part of the park. That would probably just cause too much bother for them.
