Got off to the wrong foot on the other thread.

I see lots of people buying diet drinks as the nutritional information says they are virtually the same as water.

Do most people still think these drinks are healthy?

I don't want to change it...i have good teeth...have only needed two fillings in my entire life. So far Im fit and healthy. I don't smoke or drink alcohol (perhaps a glasss of wine once or twice a year)..everyone has their vices...mine is diet coke

I exercise regularly, eat well, don't smoke and have a couple of diet pepsi's a day - I think over all my bones will be fine!

also 44 - no fillings ----> Grin teeth!

Dropdead I have never had a filling which my dentist finds amazing.

I don't even know how many I drink or the money I spend and have done for the last 12 years.

There was an article in a newspaper yesterday (probably The Fail so obviously true) saying that fruit juice should be limited to one serving a day because of the sugar content. So the list of "bad" drinks is now: fruit juice (too much sugar); diluting juice (too much sugar); fizzy drinks (too much sugar) and diet drinks because they give you cancer. Oh and non-organic milk because it's full of antibiotics apparently.
I don't like water so that leaves me. organic milk or gin.

I gave it up because I couldn't do it in moderation. I got up to about 7 or 8 cans a day at one point, with the occasional glass of water thrown in.

The way I gave it up was looking up the potential health effects of the acids in diet coke and asparatame and other sweeteners. And decided I didn't want to calcium gradually sucked from my bones until I got osteoporosis.

However, I think in moderation, it is fine. Eg, after I give birth, my first drink will probably be a jack daniels and diet/full fat coke.
