There's a Kathie Ferrars facebook-style story on CBB but I think Joey on MN would be great!

Am I being PFSTB with the triplets? AIBU in going to ask the school XY and Z? Should I invite my daughter's entire form round for a playdate? Should I worry about health and safety at my DD's school? AIBU calling my DH a solid lump of comfort?

Are we Seniors now then? I can't remember if Inter V (inter vee in my head, though I know it probably should be inter five/fifth) were still Middles or not. How jolly exciting.

At one point I read an article in the TES about schools which improve their language teaching by teaching other subjects (Geography was one I think) in the MFL. I just thought they'd stolen that idea from the chalet school.

SockQueen weren't Inter V "senior middles"? Then Upper V were the first year of seniors.

I may have been making this up by correlating it to my own school which used a similar system (although Middle V not Inter V.)

Oh my. I was just googling for whether Inter V were middles or seniors (because I want to know now) and I came across this extensive work on the Chalet School.

Is it the work of a Mumsnetter? Whoever wrote this had a serious devotion to the CS!

I have already worked out how to deal with the languages difficulty Posy. I was thinking about trawling the universities for (female of course) Chinese and Spanish PhD students! As assistant teachers of course. I, as a professional face painter and therefore used to dealing with children, will be the head mistress, and the rest of my staff will all be very middle class and some of them will even be qualified teachers. I just have to write up the business plan, find suitable premises, and i'll be in business!

I think Ju must be Ju Gosling, who founded Bettany Press, Posy. They were the first to start reprinting Chalet books, now it's Girls Gone By that are reprinting Chalet, Abbey, Kingscote et al.

Who mentioned demon headmaster at the top of this thread? Of course it all makes sense now, that's why joey was so insistent on having all the random new girls round to tea so she could hypnotise them of course and anyone with a strong personality like mary-lou obviously needed top ups of hypnotism that's why she was invited so much!

Oh no! I have been reading this thread while lying down AND without my bed-jacket on. Better get myself off to the San for some cod liver oil and Dr Jack's special milk.

I used to love reading while lying down, and found this particular restriction sounded very tiresome. I think at some point it was said to be bad for the eyes, but can't really see why.
Now I find it hard on the back to read for long like that though, so manybe that was the reason.
