I mean I really believe in democracy. Except when people vote for parties I don't like. They shouldn't be allowed a vote.

OP posts:

I'm sick to the back teeth of it to be honest

One or two have been interesting, but the others seem to be started purely because the OP knows almost everyone will agree with them.

At least that's how it comes across to me

yes - agapanthers. there are too many UKIP threads on here. when has anyone read a thread and gone "ooohhh is that their game then. I had better not vote for them I had better vote for (insert other party name here)"religion, politics and sex. just don't discuss them. you wont go far wrong.

meditrina · 12/05/2014 19:38

There comes a point when 'try too hard' becomes counterproductive.

nomorequotes · 12/05/2014 19:41

I think it is a shame that the threads get filled with people decrying UKIP to such an extent that no proper conversation can be had. I tried on one thread to actually discuss the policies (or lack of them) and how things would be if UKIP got into power and what it means for us to leave Europe, have no migrant workers etc etc.

But they just get so completely filled with people using it as a platform to show hatred for UKIP that no actual conversation can take place, so they are pointless.

CoffeeTea103 · 12/05/2014 19:44

Yawn

ColdTeaAgain · 12/05/2014 19:47

religion, politics and sex. just don't discuss them. you wont go far wrong. - one of my mottos in life, well barring sex perhaps...

BeyondRepair · 12/05/2014 20:34

Great another UKIP thread.....

Boaty · 12/05/2014 20:57

What's the weather like where you are? Lets discuss the usual British preoccupation!
Showery here!

silveroldie2 · 12/05/2014 21:21

OMG MN desperately needs a [boring] or [yawn] or [zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz] emote.

Vote for who you want and let others do the same. I don't give a stuff if you dislike certain parties - I really dislike Labour and vote Conservatives - sue me.

silveroldie2 · 12/05/2014 21:23

Spring showers here Boaty - where's that new emote MN? Grin

JohnFarleysRuskin · 12/05/2014 21:25

I like the threads. It's nice to see people are politically engaged!

Thanks ukip, you twats.

aquashiv · 12/05/2014 21:30

Jeeez its like the new daily mail/t rex/parking space/benefits/your goat is bigger than mine thread.

Icimoi · 12/05/2014 21:32

Bit wet round here, but was nice earlier.

MrsTerryPratchett · 12/05/2014 21:33

I mean I really believe in democracy. Except when people vote for parties I don't like. They shouldn't be allowed a vote. Bullshit. I hate UKIP, wouldn't vote for them, think everything they stand for is repulsive etc. etc. but I would go to the barricades for their voters' right to vote for them. Do not confuse a strong argument against them for a lack of belief in democracy. It's the best shit system we have.

xpatmama · 12/05/2014 21:37

Well if you ladies want to discuss both UKIP and weather then this is made for you

www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/01/19/ukip-shipping-forecast-gay_n_4628625.html

And maybe this:

mobile.twitter.com/UkipWeather

Though I've noticed that it's got pretty rude...

xpatmama · 12/05/2014 21:38

Ps not sure I totally agree with the premise I've been on the odd thread where I've been totally shouted down by the UKIP ers.

ariadneoliver · 12/05/2014 21:44

According to today's polling in the Euro election UKIP will get between 26 and 28% and either come first or second behind the Tories. In the local elections they will get 15% and come third after the Tories (1st) and Labour (2nd) www1.politicalbetting.com/ You'd never guess from the threads in AIBU though.

LackaDAISYcal · 12/05/2014 21:46

I don't think that I've seen anyone saying anyone else shouldn't be allowed a vote.

YABU on that basis alone and just trying to start another fight

morethanpotatoprints · 12/05/2014 21:46

I didn't know there were any UKIP ers on here, everyone seems to hate them.
Round here they have a strong following from the 18-25 year old men, job related I believe.
My ds x2 say all their mates and colleagues are voting for them, my ds don't vote as can't be assed Grin
