I always vote.

This year will be dd's first year voting and she can't wait.

phantomnamechanger · 12/05/2014 18:42

Indeed, I hate hearing people moan about any political matter, when they admit they don't even bother voting themselves. If there is no party whose policies you totally agree with, you have to compromise and go for the least bad option, otherwise all the extremists turn out and it's not a genuine reflection of public opinion.

nilbyname · 12/05/2014 18:44

I always vote. And not ukip either!

HoneyDragon · 12/05/2014 18:45

I always vote.

Quick nix the thread now and your assumption will be correct. Hurrah! Grin

daftgeranium · 12/05/2014 18:46

Voted already with postal vote.

I think it's shameful that some people consider this not to be a 'real' or 'important' election. Being in the EU has a huge number of benefits but we will only make the most of them by electing decent representatives. (Not UKIP, obviously)

YouTheCat · 12/05/2014 18:46

In fact, I have even got dp to take an interest and start voting too, as he never used to bother before he met me.

tobysmum77 · 12/05/2014 18:46

yay, I am generally not that polical but I will vote and force remind dh to do the same.

OP posts:
mousmous · 12/05/2014 18:47

absolutely daft
I will be voting!

MojitoMadness · 12/05/2014 18:48

Already voted.

TrinityRhino · 12/05/2014 18:49

I always vote

you would have to be very stupid not to vote

if these wankers have to run the country, you have to use the tiny thing you have to try and make a change

OublietteBravo · 12/05/2014 18:49

I always vote. In fact we go to the polling station as a family in the hope that DC will grow up thinking that voting is normal. DD (10) and DS (8) have been asking loads of questions about the policies of the different parties. In fact DS has a collection of leaflets that he has collected and is reading through.

ouryve · 12/05/2014 18:49

I will be. I'm not currently entirely enamoured of the party I will be voting for, but sometimes the vote has to be for least worst.

Sirzy · 12/05/2014 18:50

I will vote. Not happy with the candiates for the local election element but will do some more research and then still vote (but certainly not for the UKIP candidate)

bringonyourwreckingball · 12/05/2014 18:50

I always vote, and the dc come with me. We usually go and get fish and chips afterwards, make a bit of an occasion of it.

tobysmum77 · 12/05/2014 18:50

I don't always vote you lot are very good but the minority according to the figures. .... am impressed so far.

OP posts:
ouryve · 12/05/2014 18:50

And now I'm a bit concerned that we don't have our postal voting forms through yet.

CatThiefKeith · 12/05/2014 18:52

I always vote. My sisters never votes.... sometimes I nick her card and do it for her. Smile

meditrina · 12/05/2014 18:53

I have voted in every election since turned 18.

Though once (EU elections in ate 1990s) I deliberately spoiled my paper. I am considering doing that again because, now as then, I don't think any of the options are good enough.

Ploppy16 · 12/05/2014 18:54

Absolutely. We have UKIP and the BNP standing along with No2EU and a couple of other dodgy sounding parties plus the usual dodgy ones so haven't quite decided who I'm going for yet, more research is needed.
I know who it won't be though.

AmberLeaf · 12/05/2014 18:55

I always vote, I take my children along too. My almost 18 yr old can't wait for next may when he will be able to vote in the general election.

Never voted, nor will, for ukip though.

TheWave · 12/05/2014 18:56

I always vote. Even if it's a "done deal" or a possible "wasted vote" it sends a message through to society, friends, family, etc that it's important.

LineRunner · 12/05/2014 18:57

Always vote. DD will vote for the first time.

She says she will vote Labour because UKIP are nutters and the Lib Dems have failed to act properly on allegations of sexual misconduct.

I will probably vote Labour, too.

LeftyLoony · 12/05/2014 18:58

Too bloody right I will

OneStepCloser · 12/05/2014 18:58

Have always voted its dds first vote as well, we shall take a family walk up to the polling station, will definitely not be for UKIP.

wigglesrock · 12/05/2014 18:58

I always go out to vote, always have done. My parents have always voted, my grannies have always voted, my husband votes. Sometimes I spoil my vote but I always register & turn up.
