To rather hate Sainsbury's right now...

A few weeks ago my dd entered a colouring competition and I paid a pound which went to charity. She coloured it in in the restaurant and did a really good job. We were delighted when they rang back last week to tell us she had won, as with hundreds probably entering you don't expect to! They told us to collect it at customer services. Went into Sainsbury's yesterday to collect it and they couldn't find it! They were searching through all the cupboards where they were expecting it to be..nothing! They took my phone number. As you can imagine my dd was upset yesterday. I rang them again this morning and the woman I spoke to didn't seem to know much about it and was getting someone to call me back! No call so far...how mean of them. I'm quite a laid back person but I'm not letting this one go..

Does she get a prize for this still?

Floggingmolly · 12/05/2014 11:08

What did they lose, the drawing or the prize? Would you expect to get the drawing back?

ShatnersBassoon · 12/05/2014 11:08

It will turn up. It's probably still on the desk of the person who phoned you.

Sainsburys usually have one or two people responsible for this type of event, they are generally part time.
The customer service dept who answer the phone probably know nothing and have left messages.
Ask them for the email address of the relevant people, I am sure they will sort it out for you.

It was the prize I went to collect..an Easter Egg..they only rang me last week to say she had won. And told me to collect it at Customer Services!

Tell them you are going away soon so you need an alternative in voucher form so your DD can choose her own treat at a later date.

Maybe all the Easter stock has gone. I'm sure they wouldn't mind doing that.

emuloc · 12/05/2014 11:19

That should be easy for them to put right then.

CoffeeTea103 · 12/05/2014 11:24

They should have just given you one of the shelf.

SouthernShepherdess · 12/05/2014 15:28

All resolved now..but only because I rang them again I feel. They put me through to the floor manager and she's arranging for a £5 goodwill voucher to be issued, as there was some kind of mix-up with her prize. To be honest a preferred prize to an Easter egg, as she can buy something that will last her now..maybe it turned out this way for the better!
