DP just told me he believes in all the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 and London bombing.

AIBU to dump him right now for talking bollocks?

Is his theory that America wanted to go to war in the middle east because of the oil.

If so you could simply point out to him that Afghanistan is in central Asia and has very little oil.

and that the US government whilst it has form for doing things they shouldn't, has an appalling record of keeping it quiet - they couldn't keep one intern in the Whitehouse a secret, I think someone might have cracked by now about murdering thousands of innocent people.

Ask him how we can be sure whether we are really here, and not just characters appearing in someone else's dream.

Or, ask him how different ancient societies, all over the world, looked at wheat growing and thought "I know, if I just take the little knobbly bits of the end, grind it up, add some random mould, water, leave it for a bit, then bash it about and then heat it up it will make bread. Which will be my people's staple foodstuff for the next millennium." Seriously, who thought of that? And how did they find out about yeast?

The trouble with conspiracy theorists is that they can often talk about nothing else in which case I'd be tempted to LTB for being tedious. But if he can keep it to himself, no harm done. Probably.
