To expect to be able to find a Dove shower cream that smells like dove soap?

Not life-changing, nor even vaguely interesting, but years ago, when Dove first emerged, your bath and shower gel smelt the same as the hand wash/soap. Gorgeous and clean and fresh and...well...soapy.

Can't find it anymore though. I've squeezed and sniffed my way through loads today and, nope, they've all changed.

Am I right? Or am I a rubbish shopper?

I want to smell of soap too. I hate the way everything seems to smell of Forest Fruits or Tropical Mango these days. Fake fruit scent like sweets.

I LOVE-the smell of dove too!but you Are right the body washes don't smell like the soap ! ANDim sure you used to be able to get dove facial moisturiser!? I can't find it anywhere !

YANBU. I am addicted to Dove and buy everything Dove (soap, bubble bath, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and body lotion - oh, and hand wash soap which smells DELICIOUS) but I'm gutted that the shower creme isn't like it used to be - back in the old days when it was in a little roundish bottle and smelled just the same as the soap. When they used to advertise it as only needing a drop in the Dove body puff. I can tell you though that the hand wash in a pump smells like the body wash used to - it's probably the same stuff, you could try that? I have the hand wash and always have a good long sniff of it when I use it.

I also mourn for the loss of the original Pantene fragrance!

I'm sure mine used to have a slight clove-y smell. My recent one hasn't. Is it a change in formula in the last year or is it a different one in their range. I know the one I had just over 2 years ago was more clovey.

Just wanted to say that Dove is not soap, you won't find it anywhere on the packaging because they are not allowed to call it soap. I used to love using it too many many moons ago but I only use handmade soap now because it is far better for your skin.

Yuk. Soap smell makes me want to vom.

Like you Emsy, that smell is bloody lovely. Not fruity, not vaguely ice cream, not minty, just the smell of clean.

On that perfume oil site perfume parlour they do a dove copy. It is the business. I wear it to work and everyone comments how clean and fresh I smell. It makes me happy. Buy it. You won't be disappointed. Please note for the record I do actually have a shower too!!

Where where where is the link for the Dove perfume oil??? I want it! The closest I've ever found is Estee Lauder White Linen Breeze - but that still smells more perfumey than soap IMO. Still quite a clean scent though.

Aldi have a shower gel/soap that smells just like the dove soap bar. It's in a white bottle with a blue lid. Can't remember it's name but I use it all the time

Went to Aldi yesterday but after sniffing bottles, couldn't find anothing. Mind you it was packed so I was flustered and impatient.

I was also annoyed when I couldn't find a bar of bath soap that is a large bar of soap in any supermarket. I had to order some from Amazon. I think Dove used to come in large bars but now only small is available. I know it's hardly important in the grand scheme of things. But why?

I have the Dove anti-perspirant that smells like the soap, it's really strong actually. But I just feel cleaner with it

I love Dove soap, hate fruity scents, and have had no perfume I liked since the Body Shop discontinued Samarkand about 12 years ago.
