Just out of curiosity really! I have come through a hard time, but am feeling great now, very happy in myself and about to start a new job. After being single for a few years I feel ready to get out there and start dating again. Unsure at this stage if I will get to meet many new people through my work, but it's possible. Thinking of trying online dating.

Where did you meet your partner? Was it purely by chance or were you looking for a relationship?

At a 2002 jubilee street party! I was 13, him 14. Was at my oldest friend's house, the street was a giant semi-circle and he lived down at the bottom end and all the neighbours had organised for the street to be closed and a giant party to be held. Went down to the party with my friend and was met with the sight of future DH running around with two balloons shoved up his t-shirt, he fell over, balloons burst and was left laying in a heap on the floor! I thought he was a bloody fool.
During the party I found a few quid on the floor so my friend and I went to the shop and bought loads of sweets, upon returning to the party DH and his friends were all helping him to find his paper round money that he had lost during his fall, queue my friend and I sat there very red faced and quietly scuttling away!
3 years later I was visiting my bro at work and saw a very yummy looking lad (DH) working with him, I visited my bro at work much more often to see this guy my bro after that.
Still wasn't meant to be at that moment as it took another 2 years for us to meet again in a nightclub and we've been together ever since, will be celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary later this year and we have 2 beautiful children!
If people ask how we met, DH says "oh she robbed me when I was 14!!!"

In a pub in North Manchester. When my Fiancee had let me down again to work overtime to pay for our wedding which was planned for 4 months later even though it was all paid for already and I decided to go out for a drink with a female friend. Took one look, knew he was the one, ditched the Fiancee, and 28 years and 3 DC's later we are still happy.

Through a Facebook dating app, he was my one and only online dating experience! It was love at first sight for me, though took him a few weeks longer to admit it. 6 years and one DC later, married for almost 3 years. Smile

I was single having ended an 18 year relationship and then been dumped by the rebound guy. Definitely not looking for another bloke in any way, shape or form, not ever, no how.

Went to stay with friends at the other end of the country. They took me with them to a barbecue a friend of theirs was having at his house.

I'm now living in that house and married to that friend.

Saw him several times across a crowded room (coffee shop!) and thought OMG - still makes my heart stop nearly a decade later Blush

He was the best man and was maid of honour at our respective best friends' wedding. It was love at first sight. We became engaged 7 months later & were married 2 months after that. Our sons are now 25 & 30 and we're still going strong.

Compo Grin

We met at an art exhibition, where a mutual friend introduced us thinking that I should model for DP (an artist). We were left chatting on our own, and decided to escape all the pseuds and go outside to smoke. One cig led to another, and after chain-smoking for an hour, we had fallen in love, left together, and have been together ever since Grin. Nine years.

Friends Reunited Dating.

Best ÂŁ37.50 we ever spent! Found each other within 2 weeks of joining. I had 1 duff date before him, and I managed to snatch him away before anyone got their hands on him, only just apparently

In a pub. We were both on nights out that had actually been cancelled and then reinstated despite the fact it had promised to snow quite heavily (and it had by the time we left the pub!) he and his mate just happened to be in a couple of years above one of my friends at school so got chatting.

I don't really know if I was looking or not. My only other relationship (6 years) had ended when I found out exp had been having numerous affairs when men behind my back. I then moved back to the UK with my then 4 year old Ds after growing up in another country to make a fresh start and was also fully engrossed in a college course I had wanted to do my whole life so suppose things were very hectic and I hasn't really thought about it!

We were inseparable after that night (even though instead of a very hoped for goodnight kiss I got a snowball thrown at me instead Hmm) That was 2 and half years ago. An engagement and newborn baby Ds later and here we are Smile Very happy and he couldn't be a better dad to ds1 (and now ds2 as well.)
