To ask you where or how you met your DH/ DW?

Just out of curiosity really! I have come through a hard time, but am feeling great now, very happy in myself and about to start a new job. After being single for a few years I feel ready to get out there and start dating again. Unsure at this stage if I will get to meet many new people through my work, but it's possible. Thinking of trying online dating.

Where did you meet your partner? Was it purely by chance or were you looking for a relationship?

I met DH at work whilst I was still married to xH. Nothing happened, we were good mates and I never really thought of him in that way. Then I split with xH and left the company. Ran into DH in a bar a year later and we've been together ever since.

At uni in a bar. We became friends friends first. I was doing a masters, he was a fresher. I definitely didn't think it would lead to anything, but it did.Smile

I was out with my friends for my birthday and asked a handsome stranger to take a group photo of us. 7 years later we're about to get married!

I was a teenager and met him at my friend's boyfriend's house, he was his mate. I wasn't looking for a relationship I was actually with someone else at the time. But he was a massive cheating twat, I ended up dumping him and getting with DH the next day. Almost 20 years ago now.

At Infant school Blush though we didn't get together for another 21 years. I was just out of a relationship and certainly not looking for one with someone from my hometown as I lived away. He went travelling for a month and I realised that he was perfect!

We met in a walking group. Lots if other couples met through it as well.

I worked in a predominantly female professional and so the opportunities of meeting men were very small that way. All my friends were already settled and having babies so I didn't really have anyone to go out 'on the pull' with either.

Due to both these factors I decided to try online dating and got lucky with the 3rd guy I met. He's my DH now Smile

At a running club. We know each other for about a year but I had never thought of him as bf material before. We have now been together nearly a year, love each other to bits and will be looking to buy a house later in the year.

At work. I used any excuse to go to his department. And he made up some ridiculous excuse of forgetting what time he was starting work the next day so gave me his number so I could check and then text him. I text that evening and we chatted all night and arranged our first date for that weekend. We were both working and he waited outside for me to finish, then we went to the pub, then cinema, then I went back to his nothing happened! just a kiss and I stayed there until 8am, watching movies, listening to music and talking. I left with butterflies in my stomach and a smile on my face. We've been together now for 5 and a half years.

I think I was looking for a serious relationship. At least ready for one.

I met DW on interview at university. I fell in love instantly and that was that. I knew I had met my future wife literally the moment I laid eyes on her.

There was the minor issue of us both needing to actually pass the exam and the interview and also a slight issue that DW didn't really like me at all.

That was over 30 years ago. Grin

We met via online dating. Went on an actual date two days later, our second date was two days after that and I moved in with him six months later. We married after a year and our daughter is due the day after our first anniversary.

I moved into a shared house where he was living. He was a student and I worked in a call centre. We hit it off over our fury that our other housemates were so messy.

14 years later we are still going strong.
