to refuse to pay full cut/blow dry price for a 10 yr old's hair?

Been to same hairdresser for a couple of years. Chose it because wanted service and nice cut. I pay around £28-30 for a cut and blow dry, have taken my daughter with me when I got and booked her in for a dry cut of. Fringe and trim, she has long hair and so do I. Last time I booked, they sake how old my daughter as, when I said 10, they said she'd have to have a full cut and blow dry because she was over 9. I pointed out she was tiny (she is the smallest in her class by 12-18 inches) and she would not be able to reach the sink for her hair to be washed. They 'checked refurbished' and said they'd book it as a dry trim. Not looking forward to doing battle again- what sort of age is normal for an adult price cut?

Sorry, they checked with the owner.

In would have thought from about the age of 10 it would be full price tbh. Especially as from that age they are more likely to start wanting hair styled rather than just cut.

My sons get their hair cut at a place where it's £14 for "man's" cut, £8 for under 10s. They're in their teens now and they get charged £10, although there's no official intermediate price listed. I've never had a girl so I don't know what would be reasonable, but I think full price for a 10 year old is a bit unfair, and so is making them have all sorts of extra things done that they don't need. (I just cut my own hair, and would feel confident to trim a girl's long hair, but I'm rubbish at cutting short hair!)

There's loads of cheaper (budget) places that will cut children's hair and she doesn't need anything flash. I would have knocked a year off her age, she's small so they wouldn't have known Wink
