To miss the sweet and unhealthy Ribena of the 70's?

I loved it. Especially hot Ribena when I had a sore throat.

The new stuff tastes rank.

I don't like Ribena but I miss going into the chemist and buying Lucozade in a glass bottle, wrapped in orange cellophane

I haven't noticed a big difference, although I am using a lot more so it obviously isn't as strong as it used to be which makes me feel ripped off.

The only way to get half decent Ribena is to buy the cartons. The bottles and the dilutable stuff have gone all wrong.

I noticed this - usually too cheap to buy it but was on offer. I was expecting the lovely dark gloopy syrup that was so thick it made a dome shape in the bottom of the glass before you poured the water on. Thin and weak was what I got.

I only ever buy the 'added sugar' version as the no added sugar stuff just tastes of sweeteners and is beyond disgusting!

You do have to put loads in to get it good and strong though :)

You're not buying the light or no added sugar version are you op?

Ordinary Ribena sweetened with just sugar seems syrupy enough to me.

I had a hankering for Ribena Apricot not so long back

We weren't allowed Ribena growing up in the 70s. The children next door were and always had a Ribena moustache. They had the Alpine pop man as well.

Tis crap now. It has no taste.

It sucks and I am not impressed.

Agree only Ribena in cartons tastes something like the original.

I also want proper kia-ora brought back. Bought it a few years ago for the dc's and it tastes nothing like the stuff of the 80's!!

No we were,nt either sparklingbrook it was always too expensive we always got crap asda cordial my friend got the alpine pop man we were,nt allowed that either I was always insanely jealous of her my kids are allowed ribena and vimto another thing we were,nt allowed!!

We were so deprived x2. We had vv weak orange squash.

Greyhound I said just that to DH the other day. When I was a child (before the 70s!) it was just as you describe and the current (pun intended) isn't a patch.

I thought it was just my taste buds that had changed! In the 90's it was my favourite drink as a kid. Now it's terrible. Tastes like there's a vital ingredient missing.

Kola Kubes are the same. They taste like crap now too.

lemon Bon Bons are crapola these days too.

Try Rocks organic. It is very gloopy.

Have they changed Vimto too? It seems less sour now.

I know sparklingbrook we were never allowed jubblys either had to make our own with the crap cordial with a cup and a spoon our cordial we always had weak orange too and just one bottle a week!

Were you allowed to watch ITV x2? we weren't.

I was sooooo excited when they started making Wotsit Waffles again, only to open the bag and they were tiny and nothing like the original ones. Disappointing.

There's only about 5 in a bag too Tequila.

Ah the alpine man! Cream soda was my fave.
