In a slow cooker with coke and onions for about 5 hrs?

FatalCabbage · 05/05/2014 09:56

Google "Nigella coke ham" and prepare a cauliflower cheese while it's boiling. They go in the oven together.

Definitely go with nigella cola ham recipe. It's delicious!

FourForksAche · 05/05/2014 10:11

I just slow roast them.

MN216 · 05/05/2014 10:13

I did the Nigella cola recipe last week, was gorgeous BUT do not ever, ever, ever let it boil over - have had to virtually take a hammer and chisel to my gas hob burner components to avoid a £99 call-out fee for an engineer.....

hippoinamudhole · 05/05/2014 10:14

I use Gordon Ramsey's Christmas ham recipe

ArcherAnguish · 05/05/2014 10:20

I'm doing nigella cola ham today with roast potatoes and sweetcorn fritters - on reflection it's not the healthiest meal!

MegaClutterSlut · 05/05/2014 10:25

I do mine in the slow cooker (unsmoked one) and towards the end pour shit loads a little honey over it

TheGirlFromIpanema · 05/05/2014 10:26

Slow cook, or if you don't have an SC just lob it in an oven in plenty of liquid for 2-3 hours (depending on size)

Are there cooking guidelines on the packet? Will indicate size/approx. cooking time Smile

allisgood1 · 05/05/2014 10:38

I 2nd/3rd/4th nigellas recipie!

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 05/05/2014 11:19

I just put it in the slow cooker with some liquid (like cider) for several hours. With my "proper" Christmas one, I follow Delia Smith's recipe. I keep meaning to try Nigella's ......

WitchWay · 05/05/2014 11:29

I just simmer mine in a big pan of water for 20 minutes per pound plus 20 minutes. Serve with mash, cauliflower cheese & peas Smile

x2boys · 05/05/2014 11:31

We do it in Coke in the pressure cooker, which we lent a week ago to DGS to cook the same thing for his GF and a couple of friends. We showed him how the cooker worked but we haven't heard from him since so are hoping it did not explode and send him into the stratosphere.

x2boys · 05/05/2014 17:41

Well thankyou, everyone the gammon\cola ham was a great success even my very fussy seven year old enjoyed it I did it in the slow cooker with cola and onion for about four and a half hours then twenty mins in the oven loads left over for sandwiches!
