When you say a black doll, what do you mean? Something like a barbie/Bratz, or a pretend baby?

NigellasDealer · 03/05/2014 21:45

Brixton market

If it's a barbie type doll you want then the Lottie dolls are ok. www.lottie.com/us/buy/?page=store

Available from amazon etc.

ShatnersBassoon · 03/05/2014 21:46

Ikea sell them, soft cloth dolls.

Thetallesttower · 03/05/2014 21:48

Not that this helps but in the 1970's I remember my friend's collection of Sasha dolls which had all different hair and skin colours and were just so gorgeous. I was so jealous of them!

VerucaInTheNutRoom · 03/05/2014 21:50

ELC sell a black Cupcake doll called Poppy for £9.

Retropear · 03/05/2014 21:51

My dd has a black Corolle Les Ceries

Retropear · 03/05/2014 21:52

VerucaInTheNutRoom · 03/05/2014 21:52

Sorry, just read you're not looking for a baby doll.

Serendipity30 · 03/05/2014 21:53

I got a black doll in that toy shop in Herne Hill near the deli.

NigellasDealer · 03/05/2014 21:55

the toy stall near the public loos where kwik save used to be

Serendipity30 · 03/05/2014 21:56

I think the 70s were good in some ways for different coloured dolls. The Pippa range had a black pippa type doll called marie and an Asian one (with white hair I think which was strange) called britt.

morethanpotatoprints · 03/05/2014 21:57

Completely off thread but my parents bought me a black baby doll one xmas, I was probably 2 or 3.
I think it was very forward thinking in the 1960's.

Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for.

Serendipity30 · 03/05/2014 21:58

thanks Nigella will have a look. will also look in Justwilliams herne hill. Some of them are really expensive though, but oh well.

Serendipity30 · 03/05/2014 21:59

Yes in a way it seems harder to get a Black doll now. But at least you have all given me options

Wish I'd kept mine now as here's one for 65 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/161214932423?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0 although I think pristine never played with toys are sad, in more ways than one.
