To ask who you plan to vote for and why?

Reading the UKIP threads on here etc its a hot topic of discussion and maybe some people are like me and aren't entirely educated on what each party offers / doesn't and would be interested in reading some views?

DH says Green Party would literally be a wasted vote, and everyone else with a chance is pretty much as bad as each other.

Embarrassed as I am at my lack of political knowledge, I thought others may feel the same and find a thread like this helpful

Green, as a protest vote. I live in True Blue Toryland aka East Anglia so yes, it will be a wasted vote, but I have to vote for something, and against the Tories.

I don't think any of them deserve my vote but it'll be more than likely Labour.

I feel too disheartened by all of them to have any idea who to vote for. Green Party and Ukip and other small parties do not have the capabilities to run the country.

I normally vote Tory and will do in the general elections. For the European elections I am thinking I may vote UKIP though.

I will be voting Green for the Euro elections. I don't believe that it is a "wasted vote" anymore than any other vote is a "wasted vote". If people worried less about wasting votes and more about voting for the party whose policies they most align with, we might be in a happier world.

I am unsure for the General Elections. I'm a right-leaning libertarian, but I am unhappy about several tory policies, as I think that the most vulnerable people in society should be protected and supported by society.

Labour don't seem to be able to run a party, let alone a country, and their financial mismanagement when in power was shocking.

And even though I am right-leaning, I would rather vote for the Communist Social Leftist to the Leftist and then Left a Little Bit More Party before voting for UKIP or their ilk.

Green here too. It doesn't matter how I vote as the situation my family is in will not improve regardless of which rich-boy is in Downing Street.

I won't own a home till I inheirit, I can't work full time because the childcare is too expensive (already looked at working 'at a loss' and we just couldn't live) and our disposable income equates to zero every month because food and petrol prices are crippling.. No political party can solve any of these problems in a decent time-scale. They just make promises they will break while spending tax payers money on second homes and chauffeur driven cars.

Noone will ever convince me to vote for any of 'the Big Three'.

Salazar as a pesky immigrant I don't have a vote in General elections so that's moot. However, hypothetically I would vote Labour, who would still come third in my part of the world after the Tories and UKIP.

Since the European elections work along the lines of proportional representation and the Green candidate did well last time, that's where I'm targeting my vote.

Labour. Though as someone pointed out to me the other day Labour could put a donkey up for election round our way and they'd get in. And at council level they seem to be doing good things in our area.

My labour vote is always wasted. I live in the third safest Tory seat in the UK

I toyed with the idea of vting LibDem at the last election just because they are the (long way behind) 2nd placed party

I'm in a Tory safe seat, so my choice would be between:

Tories
Tory enablers
A wasted vote
Even worse than the tories

...I may spoil my ballot :(

Labour as a tactical vote. I want to try and stop the SNP gaining another seat.

I will vote Green for the euros. Labour for local. The tories dont give a shit about anyone but profit.

For the 2015 elections - no idea.

Go for the wasted vote, if it's a party you like, Courtney. In order to stand for election, all parties have to put up a deposit, and they only get the deposit back if they get a certain percentage of the vote.

For EU elections, it's £5000, and you need to get 2.5% of the vote. For Parliamentary elections it's £500 and 5% of the vote.

People were saying almost the same thing four years ago, except it was "How anyone can vote Labour after this mess I don't know."

I would normally vote Lib Dem.

However in the East Mids we have a UKIP, English Democrats and BNP candidates standing so I don't know whether to vote Labour just to keep them out.

Courtney it isn't a wasted vote. If everyone who thought their vote was wasted actually went out and voted for anyone, then the main parties would sure as hell as take notice.
