Absolutely appalling. And it will have an effect on the NHS. Poorer people are bashed for being poor.. and bashed for being overweight. Why do I have a feeling its only going to get worse. Sad Angry

When DH has trouble with his breathing in the past ive had to wave him off in the ambulance in the past because after paying for rent council tax and healthy food I couldn't afford to go with him. Because I couldn't afford to pay for taxis back once he was settled. And I made damn sure the paramedics knew why!!!

And before you come out with sociopathic crap saying I should have waited hours for a rare bus to come along I had to get home because....guess what ...partners need their sleep too.

It varies from hospital to hospital. I worked in a hospital for years. Many exceptions are made which are not listed on what you find on a website

is that the best you can come up with iwantsun Sorry but with all the cuts happening left right and centre that rings very hollow.

And they changed the rules here regarding DHs particular health complaint If he has another heart attack he will now be sent to the opposite end of Essex from where I am I WONT be able to afford to visit him.

You seem to think you can only afford to eat crap if you have cancer, not true

Darkesteyes · 02/05/2014 18:17

That's not what I said That guy has got to pay all his bills support a family and go to hospital on £100 a week. What advice would you give him on how to eat healthily Iwantsun.

OP posts:
Darkesteyes · 02/05/2014 18:19

Its not the just the fact that he has cancer Its the fact they have used this as a reason to slash his income.

Good source of protein Corus

Easy to make a sauce from a 25p tin of tomatoes and some home grown herbs

Yeah iwantsun there are plenty of home grown herbs in the car park outside my flat window.

Ooh deja vu Didn't Jamie give ppl that advice last year... telling them to go and pick herbs from local parks.

LOL @ transport. We never got any, either, MrsD, when DD had cancer.

I ate a bunch of crap, too, as I had to live with DD, as had only a kettle and a microwave. It cost a bomb. I lost 2st.

The only problem I have with eating healthily is food not lasting. I do a weekly shop and the fruit just doesn't last, whereas a multipack of crisps does.

Frozen veg is so so cheap though so there's no excuse for not having veg in your diet, I get the £1 bags of frozen stuff from ASDA. Not as healthy as fresh, but I've read studies showing it's still healthy.
