Answers: he knew your family situation when he met you, your better off without him

Why are either of those examples sexist?

Probably the most sexist forum on the planet. Suppose its great if youre part of the sisterhood though.

Betty you don't see how both threads are exactly the same question from different sides, but for each question it is the man who is wrong.

Forums aren't sexist - people are.

a forum is the sum of it's posts.
the people write posts making a forum.
so a forum is also the sum of it's people.
(ok very thin logic), and this may not be about MN, i haven't been here long enough to know.

If you think that is sexist, I seriously recommend you go and look at the dating section of the forum called 'Men Going Their Own Way'. It may put things into perspective for you.

Much of MN is laughably sexist. It's ludicrous to suggest otherwise.

Of COURSE there are forums that are more sexist out there (there's nothing said that's particularly vicious on here) but what sets MN apart is that so many posters consider themselves liberal and fair, but seem to have blinkers on when it comes to their own prejudices.
