I'm getting married in 16 weeks, only just bothered looking at invites let alone dresses ha!

Some good links here, I might have a little look in about 12 weeks Wink

Good luck and congratulations!

weaselwomble · 29/04/2014 18:42

If you pm me op to remind me I will send you some links On eBay when I'm on the computer. I found a fab little shop on there last week, some of the dresses made me wish I didn't already have mine.

This is the OPs favourite so far (great minds think alike FunnyFoot!)

It's a bit too much at £130 but maybe we could find something similar for less?

bumbleymummy · 29/04/2014 20:12

Or would it maybe be possible to buy it for the day and sell it afterwards?

coffeehouse · 29/04/2014 20:30

I had a series of unfortunate events and got my dress 3 days before...
Dont panic, you'll find the right one :-)

londonrach · 29/04/2014 20:33

My friends wedding dress never turned up so she wore a spare bridesmaid dress. She looked stunning. 10 weeks is a long time. Fingers crossed it turns up soon

luckyjazz · 29/04/2014 21:29

Have you thought about hiring? girlmeetsdress.com have some gorgeous designer dresses for hire, starting from around £40, they also do wedding dresses, and you can order 3 and only pay for the 1 you wear :) good luck I'm sure your wedding and you will be beautiful.

HelloDoris · 29/04/2014 23:01

I got my bridesmaids dresses from 20th century foxy. They've got a few bridal pieces I wish I didn't have my dress already. Vivien of Holloway has some gorgeous bits too. Otherwise hunt on ebay, second hand bridal gowns go for pennies on there..

SleepySuitcaseSheepie · 29/04/2014 23:07

shosha where is that dress from I can't work it out and it love it!

GarlicAprilShowers · 29/04/2014 23:22

Good choice, Cleo! Your link didn't work, so I stalked it Wink

Bit out there but if you are on Face book or twitter could you put a post up asking if people had a dress size 14 they have that you could borrow?
Make it clear you are not worried about if it is wedding or not you might get something that way

My cousin in law did this and if she hadn't told everyone we would never have know it was her borrowed, lady who's dress it was was so happy it was getting a second outing, another cousin brought hers on eBay for £50.

Both brides looked stunning and if they hadn't been so chuffed with how amazing they looked and their bargain so told everyone we would not have known.

Both dresses where defiantly more upmarket than my new dress which I brought for £500 and whilst I shopped around, first shop was £300 more than where I brought it from and totally me, I could see these dresses meant as much to them as mine does to me.

For the record I ordered mine 12 weeks before my wedding, shop owner was a bit put out at only 12 weeks! It was in the shop within 8.

I hired my underskirt as did the 2 brides above.

Is Lightinthebox.com any good? This looks good -

m.lightinthebox.com/sheath-column-halter-floor-length-chiffon-wedding-dress_p217072.html

There are loads more but I'm on my phone trying to settle baby.

There is a similar thread in style for you to have a look for ideas

Have you thought about buying a bridesmaid dress in a bridal colour instead? Usually cheaper.

Shosha1 · 30/04/2014 07:44

The first one was BHS Sleepy. Second one Zalando.

If you're a student Coast have a standard 15% student discount on full price dresses. It was 25% last week, not sure if that's still running.

nightshade1 · 30/04/2014 10:13

where abouts in the uk are you? we might be able to give you some local ideas.

If your anywhere near me I have a spare wedding dress here your welcome to come and try (I get married in 8 weeks and got a bit carried away dress shopping)
