To think that hitting someone else's car isn't an acceptable way to know when you can't reverse any more.

The idiot who hit my car whilst parking his own thought so. Apparently I was hilarious for suggesting that he shouldn't use the bumpers on my car to let him know when he couldn't reverse any further.

He also thought that as long as his hit my car at under 5mph it was ok. Hmm

Arse

YANBU but I see a lot of people parking in this way

Creatureofthenight · 27/04/2014 20:53

Was he Italian, that seems to be standard driving practice whenever I've been in Italy!

LittleBearPad · 27/04/2014 20:53

That doesn't make me feel much better Grin

Sadly not Italian, just obnoxious.

Only justified if you parked after him and left him no space to manoeuvre.

I once helped a woman, in tears, on her way to a funeral, who was parked on my street and two cars had sandwiched her in with about an inch either side. I have to admit I almost encouraged her to engage with their bumpers (no visible damage done).

LittleBearPad · 27/04/2014 20:58

No, was parked before. Only saw him do it as I was leaving the house to buy eggs

If your eyes aren't good enough to tell you when you shouldn't reverse anymore then you shouldn't be driving...

He's an arse. Yes he may not have caused damage but that's because he's a lucky arse!

SlackRopeWalker · 27/04/2014 21:05

Does it matter if he didn't damage your car?

GoodtoBetter · 27/04/2014 21:07

Standard parking practice here in Spain!

LittleBearPad · 27/04/2014 21:11

Did dent the bumper slightly at which point he started denying he'd hit it.

Bit different from the first comment 'well I hit it at less than 5mph' Grrr

Another reason to leave central London

God sorry that's a bit of drip feeding isn't it.

Thanks for the agreement, though I may watch out in Spain Wink
