Ok.. so far TMI so if you don't want to read about my vaginal problems turn away now.

Thank you if you have decided to read on.
I have had 2 children with no stitches or tears, however things have definately changed since having babies.

I do pelvic floor exercises twice a day but my vagina still seems quite open (cringe sorry) and I can see a lot of 'tissue' underneath. I can't for the life of me remember it looking like this before my kids and I can almost feel a bulge underneath.

If bare down I can see something push slightly outside my vagina. Iv had pain when urinating with no infection and pain during sex.

I have a go appointment for friday but wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Sounds like a mild prolapse. Ask to be reffered to the women's physio

wombat22 · 23/04/2014 19:36

It sounds like a prolapse, where the womb can "drop". An operation can be done to put it back where it should be. (quite common) I can't claim to know much about it but i'm sure someone will be along to help. Good luck for Fri

ICanSeeTheSun · 23/04/2014 19:36

It may be a slight prolapse. Don't feel embarrassed about going to the GP.

It may just be nothing.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 23/04/2014 19:36

Sounds like some form of prolapse possibly?

MsBumble · 23/04/2014 19:38

Sounds like you could have a prolapse? And/or it could also be the normal changes you end up with after giving birth.

I think lots of women have experienced this, there's quite a long thread on various issues here:

Worth asking for a referral to a gynecologist when you see the GP, sometimes they like to just fob you off by sending you to a pelvic floor clinic.

Just googled prolapse and that looks most likely oh dear...

Yes just being pregnant can weaken the pelvic muscles. Doing clenches aren't enough you should be strengthening your core too. Yoga is good for this.

Lauren83 · 23/04/2014 22:59

I have this too and was at my GP today, in back tomorrow for a full examination, do you struggle going the loo too?

frogslegs35 · 24/04/2014 08:34

Apologies to all reading who've also read the other thread involving my vagina this morning Blush

OP I had something similar to what you're describing after having my dc.
Like you I had no intervention nor stitches but was left with what seemed to be a small sort of lump of flesh at the entrance to my vagina on the pubic bone side not the perinium side. It didn't hurt though.
The rest of my vagina felt as normal as can be inside.
It wasn't a prolapse.
When I finally decided to work on fixing my pelvic floor by doing lots of core strengthening it went back inside and shrunk. I can feel a small spongy part inside now but it's not a lump anymore.

Sallystyle · 24/04/2014 08:55

I just spent two minutes googling images of vaginal prolapses.

Get yourself to the GP :)
