That my BIL asked how much the present was that we gave his daughter?

He did the same to SIL and followed this up with 'just want to see how much she's worth to you'?

He's a tit.

Did you tell him the cost or to mind his own business?

whitepuddingsupper · 23/04/2014 13:40

He's an ignorant, rude pig. How old is the child?

Ilovexmastime · 23/04/2014 13:40

YANBU, unless he was joking? Either way, still a bit of a dick.

CoffeeTea103 · 23/04/2014 13:40

Yanbu how rude!

CookieLady · 23/04/2014 13:42

What a dick.

EmmanuelWoganberry · 23/04/2014 13:43

Rude, and weird.

YesAnastasia · 23/04/2014 13:44

I hate that. I'm sure my MIL googles her presents.

TillyTellTale · 23/04/2014 13:44

YANBU

Did you ask if he meant to be so rude? Either the answer would have been 'no' and you would feel satisfied with yourself for the reply, or he would have said 'yes' and you could have had a cathartic ding-dong row!

SavoyCabbage · 23/04/2014 13:44

How weird.

How much was it....

WooWooOwl · 23/04/2014 13:45

YANBU, your brother is rude. Next time he asks, tell him that you didn't spend anything as you're re gifting her present.

Sometimesbrunette · 23/04/2014 13:46

I said 'Does it matter?'...he dodged the question.

The child at the time was 2. He chases up birthday presents if they are late too.

He's always on about how much things cost and how broke he is. Then he disappears on a 5 star holiday.

Does my head in, never asks us how we are or what we are up to.

Woowooowl- I like it!!!!! I am going to say just that.

yanbu, extreme poor taste!

Nennypops · 23/04/2014 14:29

Tell him either that it cost nothing or much, much more than it actually cost.

AndIdratherplayhereWithalltheM · 23/04/2014 14:32

he is lucky you gave his child one at all.

SlimJiminy · 23/04/2014 15:11

SO rude. I'd have to let him know that if he asks again it'll be the last time she gets a present. Shame for her to miss out but he needs to know that it's inappropriate to ask.

Sometimesbrunette · 23/04/2014 17:06

I know indeed!!

i have always made an effort re his kids presents and we do small gifts for adults too. Ours from them are normally so thoughtlessly chosen and i know for a fact his wife gave me her old gloves one year.

His kids are the only in the family until in September, all being well, I have my first.

Sometimesbrunette · 23/04/2014 17:14

Its mad because he isn't poor or anything, he's a doctor. Always moaning about how his £100k plus salary is not enough. OMG!!

Sometimesbrunette · 23/04/2014 17:16
