You get so used to the near death scenes in films that I really thought she'd come around and it'd be a happy ending.

My inner child was devasted Grin Sad

Was it just me?

(DP knew the whole time as he'd read the comics. Wouldn't have killed him to give me a heads up would it)? Hmm Grin

yanbu, I was Shock Sad

My ds's tell me that she didn't die in the original Spiderman2. Not sure how accurate they are though...

Blush I cried! But to be fair I am 28 weeks PG so that's my excuse Wink

Upon wiki'ing it, I found out that Gwen Stacey was Mary Jane's friend who Peter was with first, then he got together with MJ a while after she died.

I thought they made a cute couple plus I was extra sad because they're together in rl. I don't know why that makes it worse but it does Grin

I may have cried lots a bit...

The funeral and the 'months passing in front of the gravesite' was what got me. Goddam! Grin

Plus the way she just smacked her head. It looked painful!

I cried too, I also cried at that plane crash bit yes, I'm that bad V discretely though - tried not to be an embarrassment to my children Blush

I like this spiderman much better than Toby McGuire.

I do love how AG plays this spiderman. Much more believable as a student-age guy.

It reminds me of how stupid/dramatic all that 'first love' stuff gets when you're not quite over 20. I think that's why I cried...

Told DP I had allergies of course Grin

I love AG's Spidey, much better than Tobey Maguire.
I am an avid comic reader so I know it's coming, I have kept my mouth shut to DH though who isn't a comic reader.
I drove DH nuts through Walking Dead because I'd read the comics, and through Thor actually with random Loki anecdotes. I think he just accepts now that anything Marvel or comic related will have me talking all the way through it Blush

Yes, none of us expected it. We went on Friday for DS2's birthday. DS2 wasn't too bothered but DS1 and his friend who came with us were a bit upset/disappointed by it. DS's friend said it had put a dampener on his whole day :( (though he did rally in time to enjoy his burger at TGI's afterwards...!)

Glad it ended that way. Too much soft endings.
