To not give the poor man a lift?

Just driving home down the quiet lane to my village in the pouring rain and passed a really morose looking guy, walking the same way and carrying two heavy looking shopping bags. My good side thought I should stop and give him a lift. The bad side thought 'he's really fat, he needs the exercise. Plus he looks a bit like a chain saw killer in a bad mood'. So I drove on and feel guilty now, as I normally like to give people a lift. I do know I am a bad person really :/

I haven't called you a cunt Confused

I have explained why others might.

And you showed your true colours in the OP so forgive me if I'm not terribly interested in your opinion. I'm just pleased you didn't get the nasty thread you so obviously wanted.

How do you know the walk would improve his health? Do you have his medical records to hand? Or are you assuming just on his appearance that you are totally aware of a person's clinical needs?

FindoGask · 20/04/2014 22:04

I wouldn't stop the car to let in anyone I didn't know if I was on my own. I do other good deeds, but I won't do that /meatloaf

You would seriously give some random person walking in the road a lift? WTF?!

Lj8893 · 20/04/2014 22:15

What a horrible thread!!

And in reference to the "at least I can run faster" comment......I'm overweight but can run a lot faster than many of my slim friends/family.

I don't actually like ice cream.

SoleSource · 20/04/2014 22:20

Fat is unhealthy for me but a great man repellent.

Thegoatprophecy · 20/04/2014 22:21

I thought blokes like curves? To be fair Sole, you might be healthier than me as I eat loads of rubbish..

I'm fat, I could do with the exercise but sometimes I could do with a little help.

Clearly I am not deserving in your eyes though! Ohwell, I will just get on with it as usual.

Lj8893 · 20/04/2014 22:23

Some blokes like curves, some blokes don't.

An old friend of mine was a very very large girl, and whenever we went anywhere she had flocks of men at her feet. She honestly got any man she wanted. So being fat wasent a man repellant in her case!

Thegoatprophecy · 20/04/2014 22:24

broken you sound a tad...weird?

We could all be healthier...
Too many unhealthy, tubby folk making excuses for their unhealthy selves...
Judging someone for judging someone else makes you...better? How?
Goat don't rise to their self-comforting baiting.

Lj8893 · 20/04/2014 22:28

grumpy I wasent judging the op, I just was making a point that being large has nothing to do with how fast or slow you can run.

Being fat doesn't always necessarily mean unhealthy. I'm on the larger side of average and my best friend is really slim (verging on skinny) yet my diet and lifestyle is much healthier than hers and I am much fitter.

Thegoatprophecy · 20/04/2014 22:29

The thing is, I said in my post that I knew I was wrong to think that, but I still got a slagging off anyway for being honest! By some very aggressive sounding people..I think I was actually just looking for an excuse not to give him a lift as he looked a bit chain-sawey.

We eat too much. We don't exercise enough. If you're gonna sleep for the winter months then no, being fat isn't unhealthy. But I think we're all awake at xmas, stuffing our faces (me too), but there are too many excuses rolled out by larger folk for their way of life. Inuits are designed to put on weight, it keeps them warm and sustained through lean winter months. 'Us' Brits have got central heating and all the tinned soup we could ever dream of!

Grumpyrealist77 · 20/04/2014 22:42

And of course skinny people can be unhealthy but I know which group is in the majority in the UK...

candycoatedwaterdrops · 20/04/2014 22:47

Poor bloke being branded a murderer. You don't sound very remorseful at all tbh......

candycoatedwaterdrops · 20/04/2014 22:48

He's probably on mansnet feeling all creeped out that some nutty woman was staring at him as he trundled home from the weekly shop.

Lj8893 · 20/04/2014 22:48

But I'm not unhealthy. I eat a nutritious, balanced diet, I exercise 5 times a week, I walk everywhere, I don't smoke, I rarely drink. But I have PCOS which gives me a hormonal imbalance meaning I put on weight easily, and I would have to work 5 times as hard to get it off and it would be extremley difficult for me to maintain that weight. It's hard enough maintaining the weight im at now.

My point is, that yes there are people who are fat down to laziness, greed etc etc but that doesn't go for everyone and without knowing that persons medical history, you really have zero idea and shouldn't make snap judgements.

SoleSource · 20/04/2014 22:51

I have severe PCOS
