House smelling of weed- stopped by police dog

Iv lived in a new property for 4 weeks now, all fine up until now.

Since yesterday my flat stinks of weed, one of the neighbours are obviously using it.

Today I was stopped by a drugs dog and searched at a train station, police said the dog sensed drugs on me.

I only thought about it afterwards but it's the smell of weed coming from another flat isn't it.

What if anything can I do, what would you do?

Poster in block to the 'Weed smoker' seems abit pety but the smell is awful!

Don't be daft. Sort it out at the source. 101 and ask what you should do as your home smells of weed that someone else is smoking.

mummymeister · 20/04/2014 16:18

yep. ring 101 and report the smell. you know what it is and you know that they shouldn't be doing it. if you don't then be prepared to be stopped again.

There was a really strong smell of weed in our road a few years back. Nobody was smoking it - a whole house had been transformed into a nursery growing it. Definitely report - they had all sorts if dodgy stuff going on with the electrics powering the hydroponics.

I am very liberally minded, but this isn't on.
I would report it and ask for someone to come round.
My main reason would be the dc, visitors and of course the off chance that somebody in authority may have to come round.
Do you have dc? Their school uniform could end up smelling of weed.
Or your/your partners work clothes.
You need to get it sorted.

We had this in the last house we lived in. Our house used to stink of weed, it was horrible and made me feel so ill. We had the police round loads of times, they couldn't work out where it came from. (they can't just force their way into neighbours' houses without a warrant) and the neighbours they did manage to go and see weren't the culprits. In the end we just had to move. Sad

danny

This was like a house near us, they were growing it in the loft. The house burned down and took several other roofs with it, all terraces.
Likewise you could smell this in the street.

specialsubject · 20/04/2014 16:50

seconded or more - call 101. If they've mucked about with the electrics (which they generally do) to grow the stuff you aren't safe. Nor are you with a houseful of stoners next door as they could burn it down with dropped matches or dog-ends.

ok, that's a risk with nicotine junkies too but it doesn't make them quite so out of it.

Friedbrain · 20/04/2014 17:11

Funnily enough, U can't smell it in the block. I randomly smelt at afew doors, but nothing

(Glad I didn't get caught, god knows what I would of said)

If a loft plantation, there may be a powerful extractor fan, possibly blowing up the chimney.

Windows may be blacked out or misty.

adoptmama · 20/04/2014 17:34

leave a little trail of mini Mars Bars leading towards your door. you'll soon find out which of your neighbours has the munchies... Grin

MooseBeTimeForSpring · 20/04/2014 22:46

Maybe you could persuade the local Police helicopter to take a detour with it's heat seeking camera?

Ifpigscouldfly · 20/04/2014 23:49

Are you me ? I have this problem but I've not been stopped yet. I can only dry clothes on the one room in case they then smell of weed at work. Grr. It's very very strong too, but not constant so I can't work out if they are growing it.
