In laws wrap eggs. Spent yesterday afternoon wrapping eggs and tying ribbon round them.

Dp can do it next year as I think it is daft! It's an egg! No surprise, why wrap it?!?

Jinsei · 20/04/2014 08:43

Grin That's hilarious!!

CheesyBadger · 20/04/2014 08:44

Nope, no joke! I have contested it before but we cannot possibly take then round in a carrier bag unwrapped (how my family receive them)

gamerchick · 20/04/2014 08:44

Why did you even start wrapping them?

FruVikingessOla · 20/04/2014 08:44

How bonkers Easter Grin

JimBobplusasprog · 20/04/2014 08:45

I guess it is in the interests of giftwrap shops if we do so they probably present the concept of wrapping eggs as something posh people and slebs do. Madness.

MoonRover · 20/04/2014 08:45

Eggs come ready wrapped!

How daft.

CheesyBadger · 20/04/2014 08:47

Gamerchick... I asked myself the same question. This is the last year!

They all love arts, painting, drawing, fashion, so possibly it is like making works of art? We put them in front of the fireplace and hand them out like at Christmas Grin

Ronmione · 20/04/2014 08:48

What do they wrap them in? Birthday wrapping paper?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 20/04/2014 08:49

I used to ersp eggs in tissue paper when I did easter egg hunts in the garden.

Not proper wrapping up of boxed eggs though Easter Grin

CheesyBadger · 20/04/2014 08:50

Patterned paper, bows, ribbon, sometimes charm things, gift tags, funky tape

Ours are pretty plain in comparison but wrapped none the less.

Massive family tradition

Wrapped eggs?

Crazy.

RunnerBeen · 20/04/2014 08:53

fuck that! i barely even bothered to hide them from DS this year, and i think i'm the only shit mum who wasnt up at the crack of dawn this morning hiding eggs in the garden.

can't get into easter at all and have never heard of wrapping easter eggs. my very posh auntie doesn't wrap them so i don't think it's a posh thing.

AreWeThereYeti · 20/04/2014 08:55

Of course you don't wrap Easter eggs! That would be daft. Shock

2rebecca · 20/04/2014 08:56

You choose whether or not to wrap eggs you give, your inlaws choose whether or not to wrap eggs they send. Wrapping them sounds like a waste of paper to me. You don't have to do things yourinlaws way. leave them to it and just tell them you don't wrap eggs if you give them an egg. Your husband can wrap eggs if he feels strongly about it, it's his tradition not yours.

gamerchick · 20/04/2014 08:57

Well if it's a tradition.. I suppose you're stuck Grin

We barely do easter.

vjg13 · 20/04/2014 08:59

Is there Easter wrapping paper now!? What about a gift bag with scrunched up tissue if it's compulsory?

gamerchick · 20/04/2014 08:59

Ah it's his family tradition? He can do it from next year. Next you'll be getting his family's presents for birthday and Christmases Wink
