You need dulux or crown to use a roller. Own brands are too thin and messy.

Sallyingforth · 19/04/2014 10:02

Have another HAVE from me. You don't need to be a pedant to wince at that OF.

Sparklingbrook · 19/04/2014 10:08

FGS- enough of the grammar.

How's the painting going zobey, is it all done?

If you're the one doing the work use whatever you like to paint the wall.

If he's complaining but not helping, why not see how well his toothbrush gets paint on the walls? Wink

Grin sole

I like the sound of that colour Op, not sure it would go with my jade green bath though. I kid you not, it is hideous!

candycoatedwaterdrops · 19/04/2014 16:03

I prefer to paint with a brush but I must concede I prefer the look you get with a roller.

Goblinchild · 19/04/2014 16:13

If you are painting the walls, you get to choose how you do it. If he wants to use a roller, he should be painting.
OH is painting our bathroom ATM, our only bathroom.
We have a bucket on standby if we run out of time, patience and bladder control.

My dad taught me how to decorate, and he was 100% a paintbrush man. I tend to,use brushes for cutting in, and rollers for the rest, because it is so much quicker, I think.

But the bottom line is that the person doing the work gets to choose the method. If your dh wanted it done with a roller, he should have got on and done it.

My dh painted our downstairs loo last year - we had had the paint for a mere three years too! It was my anniversary present from him - I was away for our anniversary, on Orkney with my mum and dsis, for my mum's 80th birthday celebration holiday - a week of standing looking into Neolithic holes, and trying not to kill dsis for her 'look at me' self-deprecating laugh, and coming back to find a beautifully redecorated downstairs loo was just what I needed! He'd even bought new pictures and put them up.

Also try reading the thread before you post your corrections. There have been several now already, I'm sure the OP gets it. Why waste time correcting such an elementary error? It really doesn't show how clever you are.

Back to the OP Blush

I use a paintbrush for edging then fill in the gap with the roller. It would take forever to do the lot with a paintbrush.

randomAXEofkindness · 19/04/2014 17:58

It's a good job you let me know that Happy, I just can't remember why, can you remind me?

No, scrap that, I think your time would be better spent learning how to be less of a tit.
