To eat most of ds's Easter treats?

Ds is 15 months old, yesterday the Easter sweet madness started, he was given chocolate and sweets by 3 different people, a lolly pop from a shop keeper, we went to wish 2 family members happy easter and he got cakes and squash.

This is likely to continue all weekend.

We do let him have sweet stuff on special occasions but yesterday it was just too much, he had a cake and icecream in the morning, 3 mini cakes in the afternoon and sugery squash. He was asking for water and his great grandma just kept offering him the squash she had made up for him, he just kept saying "water water" I just got up and found a glass to give him some water in the end.

I'd never say no he can't have a bit of cake or squash if that is what he has been given but we were also given huge amounts of sweets and chocolates to take home with us.

AIBU to eat the sweets/chocolate myself? It feels wrong that they bought them for ds and I'm eating them, I'd never spend his birthday or Christmas money, it sort of feels the same.

WHat do you do with your small children's Easter goodies?

I'm going to eat most of my 12 month olds Easter treats, it's the only perk of having a young one! She'll have some chocolate buttons, but she doesn't need the 4 eggs we've been given for her.

DS is 18 months. He's been given a lot of chocolate and we haven't even seen half the relatives yet that we're going to see over the course of the weekend. It's really kind of them.

Me? I'm just glad my first trimester morning sickness is easing off as I'm really going to enjoy eating it all!

Don't feel guilty. When I buy little Easter Eggs for nieces, nephews, friends children etc, I partly expect Mum and Dad to partake too!

Eat them all! Or you may spend Easter mopping up vast amounts of toddler puke and continually doing laundry. Like we had to last time ds1 was given too much sugar.

Just the thought of all that vom has me sacrificing myself at the Easter chocolate altar Grin

I'm glad I'm not the only one eating their treats!

When I was a child I got one egg from my mum and that was it, not sure when it became normal for everyone to give children eggs, even our neighbour came out with a handful of sweets for ds. I suspect my mum asked everyone not to give us eggs!
