To want to go round like bubble boy due to size of spiders this year?

So I can just tell this year it's going to be horrendous. At the weekend we had one, no joke, including legs, the size of the palm of my hand. I've never seen one this big before ever. As heading to bed now another sizeable beast greeted me on the stairs. There seems to be more than any other year. I just can't stand them. I know spider lovers will shoot me down in flames but my DH has been instructed to Hoover/ stamp / spray- whatever it takes to get rid if bigger than a 10p.

I daren't go to bed at the mo as have the shivers evening typing this!

Non hairy spiders freak me out, I wouldn't ever kill one though.

I always throw the quilt back and check under pillows before jumping into bed. Every night, just to make sure...

Just muddling I'm so glad I'm not only one doing full bed check. Just need to dare put my feet in now got all clear

I love spiders, especially big ones. I hurt one unintentionally in the garden today and was so sad. My neighbours call me to come and remove them if they find them in their houses because they're so scared of them but I just don't get it, they are lovely.

Mice OTOH I am completely terrified of Shock Actual involuntary screams and everything.

mild winter spider summer im spraying the weekend leaving the house for a week and expect to come home to corpses

oh good god, isnt it too early for spiders?

I keep finding webs all over my house, I suspect there are LOADS lurking. Will try not to think about that fact too much, as anything bigger than a 50p (including legs) makes me want to cry!

Thanks for reminding me about the small wispy one above where I have been sitting, i have now moved safely to the other end of the sofa Grin.

I need to go in the loft tomorrow and I am shitting it. I opened the hatch today, pulled out the ladder and had a bang about, to give them a warning that I would be coming up soon! There was a dead beast still in the trap, and another dried up dead one inside the pull-down hatch, I can't get it out. They have been there since last year I think. They were massive.

There was one in our driveway a couple of weeks ago, I ran it over with the car as I pulled in because it was that big I could see it from the road. DH reversed over it again just to make sure

Get a cat. Mine eats all spiders and flies and bugs and mice in the house. I love him.

They are bigger this year. I normally find after a warm summer and mild winter they're huge. I'm not a fan of spiders. They tend to appear when I'm in the house alone, flex their muscles and stomp across the floor reducing me to a quivering wreck.

I hate spiders. Even typing the word freaks me out. I know they are useful insects and harmless, but still. Anything where I can't see facial features gives me the creeps. Or maybe it would be worse if I could make out their little faces. I don't know. I still don't like to kill them. I just hate that when I see them, its always when Im alone in a room...never when OH or DCs are around. Cunning creatures..they're toying with me...

DD can't stand spiders. She's away at Uni in the countryside and discovered to her terror that yep, spiders are HUGE there. When I went to visit there were loads of them on the staircase windows. Just there. Chilling. I bought her some spider repellent spray from Ebay to spray on windows/ledges etc and it seems to have worked. So far. I know they'll still find a way....

Really must start trying my sod of a cat back into the house more often if the spiders are big this year. He's a delight, eats them all, has never once brought me his biggest offering as a "present".

mistress We live in the country on a farm and they are fucking mutants compared to what I was used to. DH laughs at me because I covered the windows with spider nets and bought spider repellant. They are immune to anything here. The ones in the hay barn would challenge anyone to a boxing match.

I was going to try conkers but DD said conkers turn into maggots after a while, it happened to a mate of hers
