to eat all of the DCs Easter eggs?

H and I split a year ago, they are with him this week and I am home alone working.

Work has been crazy and i'd really like some chocolate. A small voice from the kitchen keeps calling me... 'eat meeeee, eaaaaat meeee'

So, would I be unreasonable to scoff the delicious One Direction Easter egg to start, followed by the rather lovely Minnie Mouse as my main and The Simpsons to finish?

I would obvs save the Egg hunt kit as a delicious after dinner snack...

How old are dcs and do they know the eggs are there. If you can do it without them realising go for it.

cantwaitforEaster · 16/04/2014 11:47

They are 5,7 and 10 - they have no clue I have them. Ex H will get them some and grandparents

Forbidden eggs fruit is always sweeter, OP! What they don't know about can't hurt them! (There's a reason these cliches exist - they're true!)

Eat up and enjoy, I say!

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/04/2014 12:32

Also, do not think that buying Easter eggs for the children ever ends - my husband bought chocolate eggs for our two twenty-somethings at the weekend. They'll both be home for Easter and will be confidently expecting them. I'm looking thoughtfully at them now, actually ...

UriGeller · 16/04/2014 12:35

You can always replace them

randomAXEofkindness · 16/04/2014 12:39

It would be unreasonable not to op. Think about all that sugar rotting their teeth - you're actually being a better mum by 'saving' them from the horror of it.

So far I've been a good mum through 2 pkts of mini eggs, 1 medium chocolate egg, and 2 galaxy caramel eggs.

You are welcome little ones.

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 16/04/2014 12:46

Just be wary that as we get closer to Easter, those specific ones might be harder to replace.

If you can replace with the Cadbury buttons that are always left over you'll be fine. Smile

Canus · 16/04/2014 12:55

Well... Our local Tesco Extra has sold out of everything except the luxury £10+ eggs.

You didn't buy the hideously overpriced One Direction one at £5 did you? I bought one for my niece, only to realise it was smaller than a Kinnerton one from the £1 shop, and didn't even have any extras.

Must have been in a 'more money than sense' fog.

Eat them at your peril!

Lilaclily · 16/04/2014 12:58

Think of your hips woman !!

Edendance · 16/04/2014 13:03

Just tell them afterwards how tasty they were- it's basically the same

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 16/04/2014 13:06

I haven't bought DS (2) and easter egg. Because he's 2 and also because I would eat it and I don't need any more chocolate in my life.

So eat them. Eat them all!

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/04/2014 13:07

My hips are past saving, Lilac. My motto is that nothing feels as good as chocolate tastes.

SilverShadows · 16/04/2014 13:08

If they were cadbury ones I would say eat them. As they are not they will not be as nice and it will be a waste of calories.

MrsDavidBowie · 16/04/2014 13:09

Yabu as they are made of nasty chocolate. Go and get some decent stuff

MoominsAreScary · 16/04/2014 13:14

We have eaten a buttons one so far, ds3&4 are 1 &3 and do not need 12 easter eggs between them ffs Grin

badidea · 16/04/2014 13:24

Eat them! (I say slightly manically as I'm now on a diet...)

Agree that cadbury eggs will be worth the calories more than non-cadbury - but when you need chocolate, you need chocolate, it's a medical condition really...

Libby456 · 16/04/2014 13:34

Eat them! go for it. Put some junk on the tv with a glass of milk or some tea etc.
After easter the sales go on so you can always get some more then! or go on to thorntons, they always have good sales and not sure how much longer for but if you type in EAST then you get 20% off on their website.

Indulge yourself!

cantwaitforEaster · 16/04/2014 15:23

They were 3 for £10 in Tesco - I do also have some rather lovely Cadbury Egg and spoon thingys too - maybe i'll start with them and keep going if i'm not sick first

Eat them!

I cracked and opened the MaltEaster mini bunny things yesterday. Couldn't find any mini eggs in Sainsburys today - very upset about that

Siouxsie76 · 17/04/2014 22:07

I hope you didn't succumb. Dh and I ate one Buttons Easter Egg each the other night and now everywhere has sold out so we can't replace them! DD and DS were handed the eggs by their uncle so we have some explaining to do on Easter Sunday Blush
