To think that if someone says "I'll drop this off for you at 12 noon"...

...they should either turn up at 12 noon or tell you they're going to be 1 1/2 hours late (and counting)?

I applied for a staff travel pass, which I can pay for via monthly salary sacrifice, on 17th March. It's supposed to take "up to two weeks" to process. The first payment came out at the end of March but no travel pass arrived. I chased it up over a week ago and got copied into a lot of "do you know about this?" emails but no actual update/progress report. In the meantime, I am paying daily bus fare so since 1st April I have been paying for my travel twice.

I chased it up again this morning and finally got hold of someone in the relevant department who said if I emailed a photo to him (that would be the photo I provided on 17th March then Hmm ) he would process it for me straight away and drop it off at our office reception at 12 noon. It's now 1.35 pm and still no travel pass. No "sorry, I'm running late" message either.

Our office is closed to visitors from 2.00 pm today for an annual Very Big Meeting so if he doesn't get here in the next 30 minutes it will be tomorrow at the earliest, and another £4 in bus fares.

Are they really going to issue you a pass that has already half expired? I would hope not! Good luck - it sounds like you might have fallen into a black hole of people not being able to do their jobs properly!

I really hope it's dated from when you get it and not when you applied. YANBU to expect people to do the things they say they're going to do. Just nag, nag, nag until it's sorted.

I hope you've been keeping bus tickets etc and try and claim back. Send them an invoice for their incompetences.

Moxiechick · 15/04/2014 20:25

Definitely provide receipts of the tickets you've paid for since April. How annoying!

I had to go and collect it in the end after the meeting as he didn't turn up by 2.00pm, BUT he did add an extra month on (it's an annual pass) to compensate for the delay in processing it.
