To get myself a scooter?

My 3 year old has a little scooter she's besotted with and I'm thinking about getting a similar one for myself (obviously one that would take an adult weight), I've looked at argos and I could get one for 30 quid and I'm really excited as I think it'd be much more fun than walking along beside her but I'm just thinking and I've never seen any other mother in the area with one so I'm a bit worried I'd look nuts.

Genuinely, would you think I was a bit odd?

There is a Mum who regularly goes past my house on a scooter. Whenever I've seen her on her own, I just assumed she was getting back from the school run the most efficient way, but I saw them at the weekend - Mum, Dad and kid. Kid was riding a bike, and Mum was scooting. Dad was walking.
So, you won't be the only one.

Yes they are great I love scooting with my dcs but my advise would be if you can afford it get a slightly more expensive one.. The really cheap ones have small wheels that lock if the hit a small stone and you will be thrown off.

Some people will think you are a bit odd but who cares?

Quite a few around here! Our nanny rides the kids scooters on a fairly regular basis. Theirs are quite robust adult scooters, they are 10 and 7 so when we replaced their micro scooters we went for grown up ones from Toys R Us.

This is the one we have

Very robust.

60lb?? Just over 4 stone. I can't see many adults being under that weight limit!

I saw a photo on fb today of Hugh Jackman on an adult scooter...if he does it, then surely it's cool?! Depends on how much you're going to worry about what others think of you, I'd go for it, you never know you might start a new trend Grin
