To be majorly fucked off with the Merlin Entertainment Group?

We're not going away this year so for Christmas presents we got each other Merlin cards so that we can do days out.

I paid for them, on my card, in my name. I organised all paperwork, collection, everything. The email address they were bought through has my name actually in it.

So you can imagine how delighted I was to have just received an email with the subject line:

DH'S NAME - Eggtastic offers for you!

And it continued "Still not decided what to do with your family this Easter, DH's Name?"

Neanderthal bastards . Am tempted to reply with 'Who is DH's Name?'

Well it's up to you but I think I would struggle to be more than mildly irritated by this.

My emails from Merlin come to my email address, randomly in the name of my 4 year old son! I wouldn't give it a second thought tbh.

HandragsNGladbags · 11/04/2014 15:23

Ugh it is annoying. We were at a solicitors recently when all questions were aimed at DH. Despite the property being mine, and all paperwork obviously being in my maiden name.

I did point out that DH wouldn't know any of the answers as it wasn't his money or mortgage that bought the place.

Irritating when the immediate position is DH and not you when they clearly can't be bothered to check. Bet it doesn't happen the other way round very often.

Trazzletoes · 11/04/2014 15:23

It is irritating. When I was pregnant and hormonal I rang our water company to complain as they did the exact same thing. I pointed out that I was the only family member they ever had dealings with, and would be going forwards. We had had a water meter fitted and they sent DH a customer satisfaction survey. Er, I was the person who waited in both times while he was busy at work!

They said they have a "main" name and a secondary name, apologised and switched them. It's the little things but it did irritate!

I had the same thing with my car - it is registered in my name & I paid for it but they address letters to my husband. Why?

HermioneWeasley · 11/04/2014 15:32

Agree, wait until they try to extract money every 2 minutes when you're there. And the indifferent staff. And the horrendously inefficient processes.

Lovecat · 11/04/2014 15:34

:o Coil & Hermione I can't wait.... Confused

Our Estate agents - they only have my contact details, only deal with me, I'm the one that's signed their agreements. They have DH's name only by coincidence.

Letters are addressed to Mr and Mrs DH Name DH Surname. I may have mentioned my perturbation when they asked for feedback.

Creamycoolerwithcream · 11/04/2014 15:39

I've had three eggtastic emails so far to my email but to three different members of my family. This didn't happen last year so i'm assuming something new is going on. I do think the pass is good value overall though.

Nocomet · 11/04/2014 15:43

If your car is a Ford it's because the dealers admin is rubbish.

DH and I both have Fords, but they still insist DHs belongs to me. And No I don't know when he wants it serviced!

squeakytoy · 11/04/2014 15:51

I can think of worse things to get angry about...

ffluffy · 11/04/2014 16:32

I got one today from them addressed to Anna... I don't know anyone called Anna...
