AIBU to think about putting my mothers mental well being above my fathers? He has alzheimers and mixed vascular dementia.

Ive always been 'daddys girl', but we are losing him so fast mentally.
I feel mums mental health should take priority now. We are already losing my beloved dad, but I don't want dads illness to break my mum...

YANBU at all. Its such a tough situation, but you need to look after your mum.

Poor you Flowers. FWIW I think you would be doing the right thing providing your DF is well cared for. Your mum might find things easier to deal with when he goes if you spend time supporting her now.

Thankyou for your comments.
I am currently supporting them both. I get paid as dads pa for 16 hours a week (under direct payments), but im currently at their house between 8.45 and 3 oclock, and they have been coming to mine for dinner and stay until 8/9 o clock. Im also a single parent and we are all finding it hard.

I think i'll make an appointment with his cpn and see what the options are.
Thanks again.
