Im watching Louis Theroux program and over in the USA they have an app to search for sex offenders in their area.

Why do the UK not follow their lead!! Very scary especially if you have children Angry

I have a sex offender in my street and didnt find out he had been charged with sex offences for 2 years.

This man lives over 2 hedges from me and walks about the street thinking he owns it. Has a real bad attitude. grrr makes my blood boil

Wafflenose: The vast majority go on to live normal, quiet lives, with not a whiff of trouble. They have a right to go on with their lives.

The victims don't though do they? What about their rights to not live in fear because their abuser is out going on with his life? Trust me you never forget and it will haunt you the rest of your life.

And what, having their names and addresses published will help them with that will it? Behave yourself.

Whatsyourpoint · 10/04/2014 19:19

I didn't say I agreed with their names and addresses being published at all Hmm Read my posts again, and you behave and get off your high horse thanks very much. I was saying that it doesn't make any difference, maggots will be around either way.

I'm not on a high horse at all. But your post seriously suggests that these people shouldn't be entitled to a life because they have had an extremely negative effect on someone else's?

Where does it stop because a million crimes can crush someone. What do you think would be the right thing to do?

Obviously these types of people will always be around and quite frankly they do disgust me (by that I am talking about the more serious crimes) but I can't agree with an app, a branding, or for them to be put down either. We have our justice system which yes can be hugely flawed at times but to suggest reverting to methods age old is ridiculous, that's my point. There is a reason these things have been outlawed.
