being so good for the environment, and not damaging the road and pavement surfaces so less cost, and meaning there are more spaces for me to park in, and having a less demand on the NHS and causing less traffic queues, and being really good role models.
AIBU to fear them and be inconsiderate to them?

As a driver and sometime cyclist it's the cars behind me when I'm waiting for a safe place to overtake a cyclist that hack me off, driving 2cm behind my rear bumper, flashing lights and beeping.

Mind you. People in my area (it may be a local thing?), cycling at night, wearing black/dark clothing, with no lights on their bikes at all. WTF is that all about? Do they have a death wish?

MissDuke hits the nail on the head in all her posts.

Cycling in many European countries is a lot safer than it is in the UK because space is allocated to cyclists in a way it isn't here.

Research has shown that hi-viz clothing doesn't necessarily make cyclists safer (though reflective clothing at night definitely does).

Helmets aren't compulsory in this country and again, research has shown that wearing one can increase risk taking by the rider.

Although cycling may seem an unsafe thing to do (and we have that belief reinforced by those who say we should wear "safety clothing") it is much worse overall to be inactive.
