Not an alcoholic, sometimes it helps to get through the day. Anyone else?

OH! and it expands within the chat window! Make sure you get the subtitles!

Comeatmefam · 02/04/2014 23:19

Wow you are, like, such a lightweight Famzilla.

My morning = line of coke + double tequila + spliff (calms the jitters) + double espresso (ups the jitters after the downing of the jitters) + double Baileys (calories to set me up til vodka elevenses....).

lessonsintightropes · 02/04/2014 23:20

Fairly normal amongst men of a certain age in Spain who pop in to a cafe for an eyeopener on the way to work. Less socially acceptable in the UK and particularly for women.

andsmile · 02/04/2014 23:20

Maybe the brandy was needed afterwards it is a horrific thing to do.

You mound looks terrible, especiallyif you have inflamed all the hair follicles.

AnyFucker · 02/04/2014 23:21

Yes, this is just the kind of poster we need on a parenting website

expatinscotland · 02/04/2014 23:44

Brandy is RANK! Gavel.

Guitargirl · 02/04/2014 23:45

When I was writing my MA dissertation years and years ago, I remember drinking vodka in the morning a few times, it helped me to write.

expatinscotland · 02/04/2014 23:47

DD1 was conceived after a Red Bull and voddy pitcher special in our local, a special that started at noon. On a Tuesday (DH's day off).

littlewhitebag · 02/04/2014 23:54

My DD had a mate whose mum enjoyed Baileys on her cornflakes. I think she had it as a pudding though and not as a breakfast. Maybe i need to try that tomorrow to see me through the day?

MistressDeeCee · 03/04/2014 00:34

Well..if you are having 1 drink and its just sometimes, not every day, then it doesn't sound like a problem to me. No law saying you must only drink evening & weekends. A drink is a drink. Are you worried about your drinking though, OP? Just asking as you've posted here. If that is the case Im not quite sure AIBU is the right place for advice..if thats what you are looking for, of course. Im not a big drinker but I do like me a whisky and orange - perhaps a couple of times a week. If I fancy one, Im not clock-watching so it could be any time of day really.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 03/04/2014 00:39

Holidays again?

HopeClearwater · 03/04/2014 01:12

Are you driving after this morning drink, or minding any children?

Why am I asking anyway... OP'll do what she likes

The only occasions I drink in the morning are when at festivals, or I'm still on it from the night before.

I'm a shining example, I realise that...however, I've never had a drink to 'get me through the day', I enjoy alcohol and I find MN's opinion on alcohol baffling and extreme, but on this occasion, I'd say the having to have a slug o' something to help you through is an indication of something wrong

8BumbleBee8 · 21/10/2019 09:43

People get drugged up on caffeine every morning to get through the day.

Tyersal · 21/10/2019 10:19

@8bumblebee8 maybe that helps them notice that threads are 5 years old

user1511042793 · 21/10/2019 10:28

It’s called an eye opener and it shows signs of addiction. It’s not normal you should seek help. It’s not the same as those at the airport etc they’re on holiday having fun. To get through the day as you stated is not normal behaviour. Best wishes.

userxx · 21/10/2019 10:59

I've done it at music festivals to get through the day.
