and hate fabric softener? Or am I a bit odd?

OP posts:
MrsBrianODriscoll · 31/03/2014 07:10

I love them, my DH calls them perverts towels. Grin

MinesAPintOfTea · 31/03/2014 07:12

Yabu. Obviously fabric conditioner is the devil's own work but towels tumble dried or even better line dried on a windy day so they feel soft and cuddly are much nicer than crunchy towels that feel dirty (dm is a crunchy towel offender)

BikeRunSki · 31/03/2014 07:15

Love crunchy towels
Never bought softener

fideline · 31/03/2014 07:17

YAB extremely U bordering on perverted.

Don't they scratch?

fideline · 31/03/2014 07:17

Xpost with MrsBrian Sorry! Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 31/03/2014 07:20

No, they don't scratch, just give you a lovely, brisk rub down.

fideline · 31/03/2014 07:29

Next you'll be telling us you like the shiny scratchy loo paper Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 31/03/2014 07:30

They don't scratch, they dry you properly!

WillieWaggledagger · 31/03/2014 07:32

Perverted Shock

I would venture that the fluffy towellers are lacking in moral fibre Wink

fideline · 31/03/2014 07:37

I am tempted to report that joke for groan-worthiness, Willie, but as it's not 8am yet, i'll just give you a yellow card Smile

fideline · 31/03/2014 07:38

Surely scratchy towels are just self-flagellation for wusses, though?

Perverted AND cowardly Wink

PuppyMonkey · 31/03/2014 07:49

Don't use fabric conditioner any more but even when I did I'd never use it on towels - you're not supposed to are you? I like towels to be capable of drying, not all namby pamby wishy washy rubbish.

WooWooOwl · 31/03/2014 07:50

Towels should neither be crunch or fabric softened. Just washed and tumble dried.

Lagoonablue · 31/03/2014 07:52

Yes I love them crunchy. No fabric conditioner and hung on line in the sun!

Selks · 31/03/2014 07:58

My towels are often crunchy and stiff as a board, but I like them like that, much to my daughters chagrin; she goes foe the extra fluffy and soft conditioned variety, the type that is useless to actually dry yourself with.
Crunchy and proud, here! Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 31/03/2014 08:01

I have never once in 40 plus years bought fabric softener

I think the whole thing passed me buy.

londonrach · 31/03/2014 08:07

Having grown up in a household of crunchy towels I asked my mum once...'why are other peoples towels so soft and ours so hard and rough'. I think my mum bought conditional after that. Nothing beats a soft warm towel. Just discovered Lenor and the smell is amazing.....

cherrytree63 · 31/03/2014 08:10

I love love love crunchy towels! And I find the older the towel the crunchier. But I do get slightly embarrassed hanging out my crunchy, threadbare (holey) towels when my NDN is in... she washes her line pre clothes hanging, and co-ordinates clothes by size, and NEVER uses pegs of different colours on one item. :-(

Off for a shower and rub down...

JapaneseMargaret · 31/03/2014 08:10

YANBU.

Soft towels feel unclean to me, because towels that have dried bodies get softer and softer.

You can't beat a sun and wind-dried towel, fresh from outside. Something that has been tumbled around in artificial heat and coated in a layer of perfumed conditioner is just grim.

Crunchy all the way! Stopped using softener when I moved in with DH due to his skin problems and now I can't bear it! I love crunchy jeans too Grin

Cherry I am now obsessed with your NDN. I'm a bit like this with my washing. I hang mine by 'genre' with the ultimate goal being that they go back in the basket in the exact order I will put them away around the house.

I've got too much fine on my hands I think Grin

Blithereens · 31/03/2014 08:45

*time

Lottiedoubtie · 31/03/2014 09:07

I'm with the crunchy people, so much nicer! Feels clean and fresh. I don't use softener, and line dry and despite this my towels are yet to reach the crunchy heights of my parents, I'm not sure what they do, but I like it!

mrsjay · 31/03/2014 09:12

I tell the dd it is exfoliating (sp) and good for their skin Grin I dont like the sun dried crunch though that is really sore sometimes

mrsjay · 31/03/2014 09:12

I have a few towels that i have had for years they are extra crunchy
