To have never really understood the appeal of the "pigeon toe" stand and actually think that people who insist in doing it are twats

I see this pose done a lot in fashion magazines or by people who are trying to look a bit cool but casual etc.

Dunno, it just seems very affected to me and I instantly just think "twat" if is see someone posing like this or when having their photo taken.

do you know what I mean? AIBU? Am I the only one?

Great, now I can't unsee this and will forever be looking at how people stand!
Will be sure to stand in a lunge position myself to avoid pigeon/camel toe situation.
Actually, that could make the camel toe worse.

TheCuntingPigeon · 27/03/2014 21:41

Coo coo. :(

motleymop · 27/03/2014 21:54

I thought it was something about camel toes also- thought 'blimey, can tell I haven't been reading magazines lately- it's TRENDY to have a camel toe?! How utterly revolting- whatever next!' I thought maybe a camel toe and a crop top?
I do the 'cross legs at the knee pose' all the time though, except it's not a pose, I find it more comfortable and easier to balance, particlarly on the tube.

Shooooo! CuntingPigeon! Grin

Objection: don't worry, this conversation is about pretend pigeon-toed standing. When it's natural, it's natural and won't look aaaarghsome at all - unless you manage to effect a certain fey cutesy simper at the same time? In which case you only have you self to blame.
Like that half limp thing that black youth and wannabeblack white youth do, sort of dropping one leg - rolling your eyes at that isn't the same as thinking the same thing of someone who actually limps.

motleymop · 27/03/2014 22:02

overandabove - Rickets infomercial- hilarious!

It's all like 'ooh aren't I cute and ditsy and quirky'.

motleymop · 27/03/2014 22:10

I do not get the poses of models on the Zara website at all. They make the clothes look bloody awful, and I love Zara clothes.

BrianTheMole · 27/03/2014 22:12

Oh no, I stand like that. I am pigeon toed though. I walk like that too. Blush

motleymop · 27/03/2014 22:18

To those who think they naturally stand like that - do you slouch wildly whilltst wearing high heeled sandals with ankle socks, black leather mini skirt, breton top, black hat and red lipstick whilst you stand? Thought not- nothing like that nonsense!

Sparklingbrook · 27/03/2014 22:20

Everyone knows this is how you stand anyway, if you want to look natural.

Noseypoke · 27/03/2014 22:22

YANBU, a lot of the fashion blogs I look seem to favour the pigeon toed stance. It looks awful.

BrianTheMole · 27/03/2014 22:23

Yes of course I do motley Shock

not really

Noseypoke · 27/03/2014 22:24

SelectAUserName · 28/03/2014 03:41

Paul, is that you?

daisychain01 · 28/03/2014 04:09

So do you think that Johnnie Boden or his Missus get all the proofs for their catalogue and reject some photos if there are no enough pigeon toed ones?

Or is it the photographers going "ok now just turn those toes in a bit more... hold it right there...."
