... to hate mothers day?

I don't get on with my mother and it is understood that we don't do it.

However I am not a mother, this is despite my best efforts and failed IVF. It's not my fault I'm not a mother.
I know a certain amount of manning up is required here but I just find it so hard. I want a special day and to be appreciated. I'm secretly hoping that DH will get me something, or even just bring me a cup of tea (which in fairness he does everyday) from the newly adopted baby substitute cat.

Op..my mother is not interested in spending the day with me. I have no dp. I do have two small children who don't get mothers day. I am going out for the day with a friend and the kids. I will avoid restaurants. Do something nice for yourself or prompt you r dp

I hate it, too. The first Mother's Day after my wonderful Mum's death my then boyfriend asked me to get his mum a card as he was too busy Confused

Now I have a lovely 4yo DD, so am hoping to get a card she'll make at nursery, or something like that, but still hate just about everything about it.

Pipbin I didn't mean necessarily that the last round will work, sorry I didn't mean to come across as flippant.

What I meant was that you'll get there one way or another.

We adopted our DD and I am thankful every day that things worked out this way, as I can't imagine having anyone else as my little girl.

Girl, that is lovely to hear, and I'm so glad you are happy. I don't think adoption is for us, but I'm glad it worked for you.
