...if I don't tell my friend that her tattoo is spelt wrong?

Just that really!
A friend has posted a picture on Facebook of her new tattoo and there is a word spelt wrong! I won't say what for fear of outing, but it's got two extra letter in by accident Shock
No one has noticed that's posted on Facebook, and I've checked that it's not a prank (no google images of the same picture) so I think it's an honest mistake.
But... I can't see that me telling her would be helpful, I mean, it's permanent! There isn't a pretty way to fix it, and surely someone else will notice and tell her? Right?
I'm such a coward Confused

I remember that one! In the news a couple of years ago. The story was that a woman in a relationship with a tattoo artist wanted some picture but he did the poo instead as he knew she was cheating on him. AFAIR it was a hoax.

Nessalina · 20/03/2014 22:44

Sorry guys, still no update! Keeping a close eye on Facebook...

I don't get why you'd have that permanently inscribed on you. It is bragging that you have a wonderful personality "I've a brilliant sense of humour me" "I'm great fun".
No, quotations are best left in books, or you can write it in a card or wear a tshirt with it on.
It's a bit Patience Strong (for those of us old enough to remember Patience Strong cards and Athena shops)

Marking place...

fuzzpig · 20/03/2014 23:08

Well on the plus side at least you didn't have to tell her yourself :o

wineforthelady · 20/03/2014 23:17

I've had tattoos and they always draw them out first for you to check so as long as it's a good tattoo artist it will be her fault, I really wouldn't be the one to tell her though....

GhettoPrincess001 · 21/03/2014 06:21

The artistic but unfortunately semi-literate tattoo artists are to blame ! They insist the clients must be sober, but are the tattoo artists ?

Wuxiapian · 21/03/2014 06:28

You should tell her.

If it were me and I was stupid enough to get a tattoo, I'd want someone to tell me!

SaltySeaBird · 21/03/2014 06:41

Oh dear, I personally don't like tattoos, especially quotes. Such a shame for your friend, I hope it's a prank!

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/03/2014 07:31

Just tell her. You are her friend

Was wondering why someone would have capture on their leg then read further and whole quote - which is quite pretty

But not if wrong

I would def say something - why wouldn't you? Hmm

Roussette · 21/03/2014 08:25

Awful quotation to have. "I'm an ugly f*er but I am a bundle of laughs" is what it says to me. What posesses people to have such pointless quotations adorning their bodies for the rest of their lives?

Whatever quotation applies to me at that moment in my life, won't necessarily apply to me in 10 years time - I just don't get it.

RobinSparkles · 21/03/2014 09:42

:o at "I'm an ugly fucker but a bundle of laughs"

Mine would say: "I'm an ugly fucker and a boring bitch too, so don't even bother!"

Keep glued to FB Op! I'm dying to know her reaction Blush.

SarahAndFuck · 21/03/2014 10:13

I know someone who has 'keep on keeping on' tattooed on their arm.

I think to them it's an inspiration to carry on no matter what but to me it might as well say "same shit different day" and have done with it.

GilmoursPillow · 21/03/2014 11:04

Are both "captures" spelt wrong, or just one of them?

WordOfTheDay · 21/03/2014 12:05

Any news, OP?

IceBeing · 21/03/2014 12:55

argh...now I am wishing I could have a tattoo again...damn.

LoveVintage · 21/03/2014 13:09

I have just wasted ages looking through the crap tattoos links. My favourite is this one:

"Anything worth having is worth figthing for"

I keep bursting out laughing thinking about it

Nessalina · 21/03/2014 18:33

Right! She knows. She's not that arsed Grin Or is at least claiming to not be that arsed! She reckons it's just the weird way he's joined the letters up!!! it's not However she has gone on to the tattoo picture on Facebook and deleted the last three comments with the stuff about it being spelt wrong...
Basically, she's brazening it out!!
I think it was her only option to be honest... Grin

Well - she's got plenty of front!

Hopasholic · 21/03/2014 23:50

Shame she can't delete the tattoo as easily Grin

YouAreMyRain · 22/03/2014 10:01

If she accepts it's wrong and acts now, the tattoo place could correct it though. Lots of these places do removal too.

I'm having a tattoo done that says "slogans are naff" across my chest, with swirls aplenty.

Fairenuff · 22/03/2014 10:12

I have "... but still, like air, I'll rise" on my thigh (part of a large piece)

The full piece is probably lovely but that quote on your thigh makes me think of a fart.

Me too!

Roshbegosh · 23/03/2014 12:38

The quotations I would have found meaningful at 18 would seem trite and a bit of a joke now. Thank God I never had any of this bollocks tattooed anywhere than. I would be embarrassed by it now. The OP's friend just has more years to cringe over her tat though. Even if she could spell, or read, she would be a complete twat.

goodasitgets · 23/03/2014 13:42

I've loved the quote I've had for years. I wouldn't be offended if people said it reminded them of a fart but I would be Hmm when it's part of a v well known poem!
