To be getting fed up of female nudity in Game of Thrones ...

Up to mid season 3 so far. Are there any major female characters that have managed to keep their clothes on? It's getting on my nerves now and starting to ruin what is otherwise a really good show.

And have there actually been any penises on display?

It is always a shame when an OP's tv doesn't have an 'off' button.

Wincingalongslowly · 19/03/2014 19:01

Spot on, LaGuardia.

Can't wait for the next book.

So tempted to give out some huge spoilers... Grin

SinisterSal · 19/03/2014 21:08

What's the point of that remark LaGuardia?

This is only a conversation.

If you think the conversation is pointless why join in? I'm assuming your computer has an Off switch.

Hmm I'd clicked on the thread fully expecting that people would be using examples to debate the point made in the OP. Are there really people who have clicked into and read the thread thinking there won't be spoilers?

"'the female characters are portrayed in such a way to seduce the average male audience and the male characters done in such a way as to seduce a female audience.'"

For real? Most of the male characters are sociopaths! (Not to mention many of the women/girls). If you find them seductive, I would be a bit worried about yourself. The only ones who are remotely stable are Davos, Sam and the dead guy.

I'm a feminist. I'm a massive Game of Thrones fan. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

MoominMammasHandbag · 19/03/2014 22:36

Well I thought the character of Ros, who hardly appears in the books, was pretty much only on the telly to show her tits while the men talked about the important stuff.

Jolleigh · 19/03/2014 22:41

I certainly wouldn't say those are the only non-sociopath male characters Fudge! I didn't peg Drogo as a sociopath. Or Jon Snow. Intelligence really shouldn't be mistaken for sociopathy. Tyrion, the eunuch (whose name escapes me), the Hound, Bron (is that Tyrion's mate's name?)...all intelligent but not necessarily sociopaths! And then there's the lovely Hodor Smile

Valdeeves · 19/03/2014 22:55

We call it "Game of Boobs" in our house - you wouldn't watch it with your grandparents would you?

samandi · 20/03/2014 08:30

TalkieToaster - I'm a feminist and big fan too, and I quite agree with all the points made so far about strong female characters. Just tired of boobs all the time.

Switching off isn't an option because there's inevitably something else happening at the same time which is important to the story. So you have a ten minute simulated sex scene while Littlefinger's monologuing again.

I wouldn't watch it with anyone except my partner! Although even by myself I cringe sometimes.

Plenty of male non-sociopathic characters ... Jon Snow, Robb Stark, Tyrion, Jorah, Laros, Gendry, plus lots of dead and minor characters.
